CQC A PvP exclusive with nothing to do while queing.

E: D CQC/Arena: It's been said many times before, and should be said repeatedly. When creating a PvP only arena game certain check boxes need to to be ticked before even considering development/release:

  • Things to do while queing (read: chat forums as a bare minimum)
  • Bots for when you're the only one wanting to play CTF

I love Elite: Dangerous, but someone at FD is more focused on the short range money grab than the long range quality release. How they can release a quick fix pvp bash'em'up without at least ticking the above two boxes is like wetting yourself.

It's the truth.

bots whilst we wait which are replaced by players as it populates, then that ends and the game starts would be great

but even having access to galnet would be something. that being said, in FFA - the only mode i play - my initial wait time has never been mroe than 3 mins and then once in a lobby it is practically instant.

must be the luck of geography i guess.,

Easy fix:

Let us queue for CQC from the cockpit of the main game! Can't join a game while in combat, and must click OK to join the match.

Not a solution as FD is selling Arena as a stand alone title. Though a great idea for those who have the full game.

I just gave it a try... after couple minutes of waiting with nothing to do I just turned off cqc... There is no point in playing it if I have to wait unknown amount of time before I can do anything. Better solution would be a list of currently matches and browsing through them, with averange ping information. Also chat would be a good idea. Or watching different matches as spectator.

Did you just try right now? Try to keep in mind what time it is... Many people who work 9-5 are still at work, and kids are likely still at school.

Selling a standalone PvP game where players are dependant on 8 other "invisible" players to even start a game? Not to mention which game mode? Suggesting that the game should only be working at certain times of the day? Really?

Trying to que now with a friend for about 15 mins. Can't even talk to my friend while waiting cause I don't have voice coms open. Not sure if/when he wants to give up waiting...

Have to admit, Been annoying today, Good games this morning (if a little uneven) and streamed, but since then no one seems to be on and stuck in queue. Be nice to know if any matches playing or at least min wait time

Yeah... I'm finding it harder to avoid the wife interdictions while waiting... maybe some loud explosions would be good so she thinks I'm actually doing something?

To me, this should be a priority because I doubt I'm the only one with this issue.

The testers they are paying to play Arena now will be out in force Monday as well. :)

Excellent comeback. What wit. Your argument leaves me speechless. ;)
There really wasn't much to argue, you completely missed the point of what I said. There are better times to queue for a match than early in the morning when most people working a day-shift are at work, and people getting off night-shift likely haven't even gotten home yet. I've said this elsewhere, the best times to get a match are typically after 5-7pm in Europe and the USA.
