Still amazed...

Hello fellow rifters... Its been a while. Just wanted to stop by and say hi. Havent been posting much these past months, but still lurking and waiting for my Rift to arrive in the post! :p

It occured to me today that I have been playing ED in VR since Alpha 1 (whenever that was) and dont even dare think about how many hours I've lost to this game!

But the thing is, everytime I come in to dock at a station I am still blown away by the fact that I am flying a bloody spaceship! Lol

If the novelty hasnt worn off after this long, then I think its safe to assume that it likely never will!

I am praying that Frontier manage to sort out the oculus runtime issues before someone else tries to steal their very well deserved front of the line VR experience!

Right on SlackR.... I'll never get bored of passing slowly through the station entrance looking up and seeing the shear size of the thing towering above me then looking to the side or above as I pass through the forcefield.... just because I can.

Even after what must be 10000 times it still has the ability to wow me.

VR rules in ED.

You are correct, ED in VR never ceases to amaze me, and while I was not on for a while while the DK was not working right - I'll probably never play this game on a monitor... - it has never stopped impressing me with the vistas and scale of things.

I'll be even more amazing once the HDMs become truly HD.

I sold my DK2 a month ago which basically paid for my CV1. Besides paying for my consumer unit when it finally gets here it forced me to work on my own non vr game I have in development. The thing is I have missed flying my own ship more than I ever imagined. The shere fact of how strong the desire and urge exists is testament to how powerful the whole VR experience is. April hurry the hell up!

It was great fun mining the barnacles over in Merope! Bought a steering wheel for the SRV which made it even better! :)

.......the funny thing is, ED is the VR experience.

And if I didn't have a DK2, I would almost certainly stop playing the game.....

OK, back to some RES farming...

Nosh

Pre - ordered CV1, I'm on an ED break until commercial VR Launches. I check the VR forum from time to time to see if FDEV had made any progress regarding rift compatibility. I'm starting to get a little nervous now, seems like there is still no news or am I wrong ?

Man I really do hope Frontier get CV1 working properly with ED. I will be a sad bunny if I have to play some other inferior space game for my vr fix

There's always SteamVR!

No thanks, if FDEV don't get the CV1 working natively with E: D I'll happily move on to something that does when it becomes available. I plan on not sinking another penny into this game, be it ship skins (not even the nice shinny chrome ones) or expansion packs until the CV1 is officially supported and would urge other Oculus users to do the same. SteamVR is a band aid not a solution.

I whole heartedly agree. I have been one of their more vocal critics. And as a software developer myself I do not know of any real reason they couldn't code around adding support for the latest SDK.

Dammit I sold my DK2 just before Horizons came out. First batch for the CV1 though so just hope FD support it properly. Can't wait tbh.
