I even check the system map while the FSD charges. If there are interesting things you can cancel the FSD. I don't quite align with dest so if it takes me a while I can still cancel without the jump automatically happening.
The instancing is a black art. There were 10 or so people I was friends with online at WP11 last night and initially in SC and on planet I was in my own instance. First time it has happened to me.

Honk while diving down into its middle, then pull level about a second into your scoop, then pull straight back out a second later.
Jump as soon as the cooldown is over, even if you're still scooping.
You don't need to aim at your destination until you're already about 60% charged, so get away from the star's heat first.
If your tank drops below half, take a little more time down in the corona to top off, but never dip any deeper than is necessary to reach your scoop's maximum rate.
In a 33ly Asp, you can make between 2500-3000 LYs/hour, depending on how much you read the forums while sprinting.
Can *just* afford an Asp, but would barely be able to fuel it let along give it a 33ly fitting. Currently in an Imp. Courier (LOVE the look!) that I can get 25 ly out of, but to get anything more I'd need to remove unimportant things like landing gear, life support and the pilot seat. I had a Cobra before that which had a similar range, but more fuel. Any recommendations for about 7.5 million?

Shortly before this adventure began, Erimus directed us to a competition being held to find a suitable Earth-like system to act as the focus for a possible colonization Community Goal. The data-collection stage is over, and Walt is slaving over the entries to put together a 2-stage community vote for the winners. Stage 1 will winnow down the 35 suitable entries to 10. Stage 2 will pick 4 winners from among those 10.
Those 35 systems were submitted by a total of 26 Commanders, of which 5 are on the Distant Worlds roster:
CMDR Grebenkov
CMDR Herzbube
CMDR Jak (forum: Jhyrryl)
CMDR Mimus
CMDR Shadowski
I don't believe that the voting threads will reveal the identity of those who made submissions, preferring to let the submissions speak for themselves, but if you want to support your fleet members, a little research in the original thread should point you in the right direction.
Up until now, it was highly doubtful that my ~25 LY Python and I would make it to Beagle Point - not enough time for prospecting. But the break at Sag A* allowed me to stock up on the necessary Vanadium and Germanium, and I just need another handful of J2 materials to make it.
Started my journey towards beagle point yesterday. Is it still possible to join some group like kamzels to see fellow members in space once I catch up?
Well, I'm not going to break any speed records myself in my Courier, but I am on my way from Cubeo. Going to follow the path you guys did. See if I can catch up. >.< Worse that happens is I have to go back, and can sell enough data to get a 30+ ship with fittings. >.<

The private group is closed now, but there are plenty traveling in open play (200 at last count). In my honest opinion its probably too late to catch up and still get the best of what DW has so far provided along the way, as by the time you get out here we'll most likely be beginning the final two stages into the less impressive Galactic Bleak Lands. Unless of course your goal is to reach Beagle Point no matter what
I'm pretty sure other DW expeditions will be starting at regular intervals once this first one is over and we have the blueprint; i.e. POIs, FleetComm, and best scheduling all nailed down and posted for players to use to organize future expeditions from.
If maximum player count in an instance is supposed to be 32, i would really like to hear from someone at Frontier how is it possible that there was 52 players in that Sag A photoshoot gathering?
I mean, was that some kind of "accident", or have you raised the player count without telling us?
If you follow the link to Braben's twitter, there is a comment from the FD Help account
@Frontier_Help@CMDR_F99 16 is the max under normal conditions, but with wing beacon invites it is possible to reach the hard limit of 52!!
