Thank you!
No need to thank me. Rekah is cool, and I enjoy his posts...but like everyone else sometimes he tends to waffle on a bit.

Maybe my yesterday's post was not specific enough, so again: I found a Barnacle on Pleiades sector IH-V c2-16 C4 in the same area that the ones discovered by CMDR Azkazius. It is at -1,61 ; -163,54.
It is still not on the spreadsheet, so maybe someone who knows how editing it works could put it there.
lmao it is a bit quite in here![]()

You've just given me my chance to make some noise then
Been lurking for months and not able to play because of too much work. Got some free evenings ahead, so wanted to ask you guys some questions. Apologies in advance, I've looked for this information but not been able to find any answers.
- with the barnacles, the meta-alloys that we can harvest: I've harvested some so far, but they were all closed when I picked them up. Do they open and close intermittently when they're on the stalk/stack, or are they always open?
- pretty sure I am right on this one: they can (or should) only be found in nebulae, right? So not in 'plain' space?
- I've noticed that when I am at a barnacle site, sometimes I hear rumbling, as if from underground. I mean, those things are buried. Wonder what's down there!? It's very deep and ominous, anyone else heard it?
Cheers folks, you're doing a grand job!
This is the quietest I've seen the thread(s).
I guess FD and MB are pretty busy at the moment with all the other aspects of Elite: Dangerous, and there is a big update coming up soon too. I'm also pretty sure they have a set timeline for big advancements in the storyline so that it doesn't play out too quickly.
But, there should still be other barnacle sites to find in the mean time before the next big update lands (I think).
Although, it'd be nice if MB could poke the coals and stir up some life here![]()

1. no clue.
2. That is what we have been lead to believe.
3. No only been to a couple but never heard anything like that but i will keep me ear out for it, perhaps a recording is needed of this.

- If they're not open, someone has picked them recently. I thought you could only get meta-alloys when they were open all the way, maybe I was wrong. They do open all the way, after a bit of time.
- I think they have only been found in Pleiades nebula, not outside.
- There has been some inconclusive analysis of all of the barnacle sounds, though the model currently has no underneath side to it (discovered via clipping through the ground).
1. They are always open.
2. Near a nebula is more accurate. Most barnacles have been found a bit outside the Pleiades nebula.
3. The rumbeling sound is normal. I think Barnie is mining for metals.
