Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval Undermine Zemina Torval?

She's prepping Uibuth, the CG system where slaves are being massed to be emancipated.

Why?

Perhaps AD should make sure Zemina isn't in best shape for expansion, next turn.

<disclaimer> i'm pretty new with this powerplay thing :p don't flame me too much if this is a really bad idea :p </disclaimer>

So you want to attack a fellow imperial power, on the basis that there are some preps in Uibuth.

Undermining us this cycle will not result in blocking a successful prep.

If it succeeds which it won't then just oppose us next cycle rather than undermine. It's cheaper and doesn't hurt your allies.

I think some of you guys are getting a little bit trigger happy regarding ZT.

Especially in a cycle when we are entertaining the federation.

Come one chaps we supposed to be on the same side!

Hello OP! Don't worry, I saw you mention that you are relatively new to Power Play. Generally speaking, publicly calling for an act of war against a sovereign ally is considered poor form. Though clearly Frontier seems to be building tensions between Aisling and Zemina on purpose, with multiple anti-Imp Slave CG's in succession. Not ACTUAL SLAVES, like Robigo, but Indentured Servants. And Aisling likes to target us ever since she screwed over Patreus after the Emperor's Dawn assassination. Even though both other Imperial Power trade Imp Slaves, we Torvaluables always take the brunt of the onslaught. My worry is that they have already pre-determined the outcome, much like when they crowned ALD the Emperor even though she was not doing so well in Power Play...

Sorry again, as I told I'm not much into powerplay... I worked a lot for the "free slaves" CG (got to top 15% by the way!) and I would have hated to read something like "Zemina Torvalds thanks you guys for putting all those slaves together" :p
Thinking again the old nanny probably needs help from imperial allies, being in the middle of the map bordering with the federation must be pretty difficult to handle.

I'll go farm my merits elsewhere! :)

No, we're not targetting Torval. It's likely some Torval folks just dropped off some merits as they ironically, did the CG.

We're keeping an eye on things, but so far, no harm no foul.

We do NOT go to war at the drop of a hat, especially with other Imperials.

Zemina is way over 130 years old. Most likely she's suffering from brain damage or brain deterioration. Probably explains why she likes to have slaves. :p

At this point in the powerplay (I'm new to it too, I've been fortifying rn and trying to reduce that deficit we have) I think it's a better idea to undermine enemy factions like the Alliance and Federation.
Zemina is not our biggest problem right now, and she's a resource I'm sure we can exploit to some degree.

Please do not fortify randomly: it really hurts our power. Always follow the fortification targets that can be found either on the Trello or the Public Fortifications page. Both are kept updated thanks to the commanders that report their fortifications on the Aisling Slack. We want our good systems fortified and our bad systems left unfortified - even if they end up undermined.

It is really important to not fortify our bad systems, by fortifying bad (loss-making, ie Base Income < Upkeep+62.1) systems you're effectively protecting them and putting our good (profit-making, ie Base Income > Upkeep+62.1) systems on the chopping block instead. We recently finished fortifying all the systems we wanted to keep, so now any more fortification will be working against us. Please do not fortify anything anymore, this is very important.

If all our systems end up fortified, the game will automatically put the ones that are the farthest away on the turmoil list, and those are good systems that we want to keep. To prevent that from happening we need to make sure we still have our bad systems left unfortified at the end of the cycle.
