[Distant Worlds] Be right back!

Right, CMDR Kancro talked me out of the paintjob run. Seems The Golden Phallus™ just wouldn't be The Golden Phallus™ if it wasn't.. Erm.. Golden.

So the lore is there, and let the history books show that I was willing, but chose to honour the ship that carries me to the far reaches by keeping it true to it's name.

Z..

Well, I guess gold can be nice too. Think I'll rename the Enforcer to "The Red Demon" after the paint job has been applied...

after the Meetup at WP13 Thursday ill be Cannonballing it back to the bubble for a Paint job change... i am an Olive Green Addict if i have to travel 30K LY to the bubble and back to get it.... SO BE IT. so if anyone wants an extra Slave, Imprerial Slave or Escape pod come find me at WP13 then.

Also this is my 3rd trip back (4 if you include a SRV BUG transportation).

PS: could also be a nice time to start watching BattleStar Galactica, if TS aint busy XD

I enjoyed the Sag A* conflabulation on Sunday - even if I did crash out at the critical moment and missed the jump.
But Real Life beckons: I'm down to 25% space left on my Sky+ box, and Winter Is Coming™, so I need to clear some space for it.
Extant, Killjoys, MARVEL's Agents of SHIELD, and probably lots of other things too aren't gonna watch themselves, so I'll be taking a short break from ED.
I caught up to the fleet once, I'll catch up again.

Sounds like you need a TV next to your PC :)

I'm currently recovering from arm surgery so I haven't been able to play as much as I'd like for the last few weeks. I fell pretty far behind the fleet and probably won't be able to catch up now. Good news is that I have a lovely new gfx card and monitor, so I'm falling in love with exploration all over again. Who knows maybe I'll catch a wild hair and make a dash to rendezvous with the main fleet :)

May you have a speedy recovery of your arm, CMDR. Did you get a gigantic monitor?

I have ordered CMDR R1nzl3r and CMDR Daemon Black to double-time it to the bubble for repaint, repairs & outfitting. They have now engaged ridiculous overdrive and are burning modules to get there tomorrow Wednesday. Their orders are to be back with the fleet no later than Saturday. Arm, time, time-zone, RL, and ship permitting, you are welcome to hitch a ride back to the fleet with them. The pace will be relentless, while not burning the modules :)

After a couple boost accidents at Waypoint 6 I was brought down to 36% Hull, then an unintentionally shield-less landing ate up another 8% (brought her down pretty hard since I thought shields were up) lowering me down to 28%.

I was perfectly fine with that, confident I could make it last. Then I was messing about (alone) in a canyon and was too accustomed to low speed flying around base camps and I ended up boost drifting into a wall, knocking my hull down to a not-too-life threatening 8%.

Again, I was sure that I could avoid death even with my hull so low so I wasn't concerned with flying back to the bubble. Then therew was talk about the SDC attack on the Mobius private group, and I came to the realization that I'm not the only one that could cause my death. So instead of sitting at 8% hull, being a possibly easy target for someone with malicious intent; or possibly being an unfortunate casualty at the hand of another player's honest mistake. With the large scale meetings we had at Sagittarius A which involved some very close drop ins, I decided to make the long trek home the honest explorers way... 18 Lightyears at a time to repair.

Now the trip started a few days ago with the Sunday Waypoint 11 launch, so I've already made it back to the bubble and started the long journey back to the fleet. I hope to reach Waypoint 13 in time for the meeting date.

Finally my question answered.

I extend my sympathies, having done this in the past. Now as soon as I experience the "nodding dog and jolt back upright" for the first time I save and exit to desktop and head straight to my sleeping quarters. Good luck in the future commander:
I took a couple days to shake it off. Am back on the road now and just passed the 33% marker on the way to Sag A* after a little less than 4 hours.

Thanks Mac :)

Yes, I just moved the TV from the living room to the computer room on CMDR Mossfoot's advice. The input delay is not even noticeable. :D

I am still contemplating making a fast run from sol with a faster ship. Right now I am still close enough to the bubble that heading back and upgrading would shave 10 hours off the whole trip ;)

Since I was back in the bubble anyway I decided to shrink my fuel tank, racing style, adding a couple of LYs to my base range, but not so much that it negatively impacted my max range.

Besides, the fleet has plenty of Fuel Rats if I do happen to make a mistake out there. :)

. . . loads of rats on the rat irc and the discord irc. All itching for a deepspace rescue :p

Just had to toss a coin to decide on whether to travel back to the bubble for a conda respray or not.
Was traveling back down from WP12 to Sag A* and could easily have turned left but went right instead to continue on to WP 13.
Have a skin already paid for and do not have to be back at work till monday so think I could of made it back for the WP 14 meet - maybe?.

What we really need is some way to change skins out of game just like the star citizen guys have.....

...and back (more or less). Took a little under 15 hours to go 25,900 LYs from Sol to Sagittarius A*. I see that I've got over 30 hours to make the 2,439.04 LYs to the next waypoint...think I'll sleep first.

Feels like it, haven't been able to practice cello for a month (yes imma power nerd). Oddly can still mix it up with my gimpy lefty in CQC since my kill ratio went up to 4:1.

Plays cello and CQC, knows science, starts interesting discussions, looks like Gaius Baltar ... If I were a Californian girl, I'd be in love.

Yes I'm a true Renaissance nerd. My California girl mostly appreciates me for my cookie recipes though ;). She's into North African hip hop (not cello) and doesn't play CQC. But we make it work somehow. Lol.
