[BGS Request] Local galnet news story on expansion

Hi there,

Unless already planned for 2.1 minor faction screens update, would it be possible for a local news story to be inserted in relevant stations to advise where a minor faction has expanded to? The haystack hunt is not a fun or productive way of spending an evening gaming.

We really need the information where a minor faction has expanded to. A local news article might be the easiest way to implement this within time. A function to search for minor factions on the Galaxy Map would be even better, like awesome, but the most important issue to solve is to let people know which system has been the target of their faction's expansion.

Totally agree, it would be great if a minor faction's expansion was reported in the relevant stations, but I'd even go one step further and say that minor factions system ownership should have its own screen or tab listing all the systems a minor faction is present in, even a search feature would help!

Repped both of you.

This will go a long way in giving minor factions a narrative and personality. The information here can even be incorporated into the mission descriptions given by the new MF representatives which will be depicted as persistent characters.

It's not only difficult to find where minor factions have expanded to it's also very difficult to find out where the bounties you forgot to collect need to be cashed in, if the name of the faction does not include the systems name. So - yeah I agree a search function for this would be totally awesome and highly appreciated.

Even if they don't want to implement a search function (I don't know why not but in any case) they should at least add the system name next to the MF name in the transactions tab.

On second thought it may not be an easy thing for FD to insert these local news stories from a coding perspective, although to us outsiders it looks like an easy win.

I hope for some good faction info functionality in 2.1.

Even just being able to search the galaxy map for a faction name would be good.

Also would help with the problem of finding where bounties are from. That's getting annoying too again when you turn up at the system named in the faction and find its been sucked God knows where.

A news story is already generated celebrating an expansion so ideally the system should be mentioned in that. My home system has 76 inhabited systems within 30ly and I'm near the edge of the bubble. If expansions are going out to 50ly now we really need an indication of where it went.

We had a list of 205 potential systems which needed checking on our last expansion which we had in order of most likely to expand into.

The system we finally found ourselves in was 205 on our list, as there seems to be no sure fire way of working out where we are going to be we fully support this suggestion.

Thank you for this idea. It is great. We currently search for system where our player faction expanded and it is exhausting find it in sphere of 412 systems around ...
