I thought they were going to do a wipe before ver 4...

As already said, there will be a wipe - if not for Alpha 4 then certainly for Beta 1. There are players who have accrued billions of credits - through the testing of exploits. By legitimate means I've amassed over 750K, but it'll go poof at some point

really lol and i have a lowly 13k but only went alpha a few days ago.
op i think tables are a bad idea if its based on money as different playing styles will have different goals and you would have to take into account value of ships and upgrades made upon them.
No need for anything like that during alpha or beta. Even once the game is finished I doubt that credits are a good measure of how well you are doing. If anything tells you how well you are doing it's your Elite rating. If you want to compare the length of your rating with the length of mine we should probably just do that in private behind the bike sheds.

Wasn't aware of the wipe, but that makes sense I guess.
Agree that ratings on money (only) would be a misleading ranking system as there are a large number of measures that we could be assessed on depending upon playing style or the path you take in the game - including Elite rating.
However, a view players performance would be interesting none the less.

The best visual indicator would be if you were blown up by another player, then they would be better. If you both just left each other alone then either you were scared of each other or just had a lot of respect which may indicate an equal footing. Just be happy how you are doing in your own game and ignore other peoples progress just like you do in real life, no need for a table unless you are inviting them for dinner

If you look up this proposal, FD have already outlined how they intend to approach ratings/rankings for the finished product.
