DCS 2.0 basic question

It comes with two planes, but no 'thing' to fly them in? Or am I missing something.

Debating if I should score the sale for A10+NTTR But I'd like to see if I still have the 'stuff' to play something at this level of SIM.
I got Blackshark back in 2009, and never got very far because I just flat sucked at keeping that thing in the air. CR Props, I like to smash them together.

I'm having some JANES/X-Plane flashback from my early years, and have a need to dip the toes. Water might burn me though.

.....what is up with line breaks these days.....

Get flaming cliffs! it's more arcade for sure. However you can select an easy mode in A-10 that is not 100% simmy. It's a great way to get into the flight sim world.

I have the Huey in DCS, which comes with it's own "campaign". I couldn't work out how to get that to work in v2. I was waiting for NTTR to be on sale.

Although DCS 2.0 comes with 2 free aircraft, there are currently no free terrains available to fly them, only the NTTR, which is a paid-for map. You can download the 1.x version though, which does have free terrain available.

The 2.0 Alpha version currently only have Nevada terrain that is a payware addon.
But you can download 1.5 beta that has the Caucasian map in it for free (it will be updated to 2.0 later).

Thanks all. I'm running 1.5 along side, and have taken the Frog on a couple Waypoint runs. DCS's attention to detail is so refreshing.

Gave in myself yesterday and paid for NTTR. I was looking at the history of "sales" by DCS and couldn't find a single example of NTTR ever being on sale.

I think I may have just pulled off my first Hi-Yo(?) vert-1/2loop-roll-dive-pull thing. In the Su-25T, this thing is a BEAST...

The Training was a must and really well done to get the basics down I was forgetting. The instruments are very important. :p And 'landed' the night-time storm runway on my 1st try. That one is cool.

The manual is for the Su-25 (non-T) which is a different model, but helps in other areas. All around, for free game, it's pretty much BONKERS good and easily Best at what it does.
Has anyone does the dual-seat multiplayer?

Waiting for the F14 tomcat DLC :)

The F-14 will built upon our proprietary component based flight modeling system. The aircraft will be split into hundreds of individual components, each with their own aerodynamic properties. This will allow us to simulate the forces acting upon the aircraft at any given flight regime or aircraft configuration. The pure dynamic nature of the flight modeling simulation means that we can easily introduce advanced features such as variable geometry wings or glove vanes and have them yield realistic results.
To achieve the most authentic flight modeling experience possible, we will be drawing upon the expertise of Subject Matter Experts (Pilots & RIOs), and augmenting this knowledge with Documentation and CFD Simulation.
We will spare no expense in ensuring that the Flight Model that drives our F-14 simulation is as accurate and true-to-life as possible.

Oh boy a dream come true.

Top Gun all the way. Do they have Carrier ops in DCS?

In other news, I have found myself really abusing the rudder too much and it's killing my performance. Last real sim I did was X-Plane years ago. Most recent flight game would be WoWP beta/release, which of course is not the right way to fly in DCS. :}

New Viper Rudder pedals from Slaw ready for orders, get them befor they are gone, limited orders left.
