In the end FD has already made their money on ED. I fail to see why it matters from here on out in all honesty. They have enough money in the bank to 'keep the lights on' as it were for years to come. And they do have other games in development (both known and unknown). Planet Coaster is going to make a serious amount of bucks if it plays even half as good as it looks so far.
All these people predicting that FD are in some sort sort of financial crisis really don't know what they are talking about. Also the nature of game development is such that you will have times when you are not making money, thats just the nature of the beast.
I want all the success for ED. But do not forget that if a product is not profitable, it can be financially compensated by an another product (short term), but in the medium term the developer teams can not work at a loss (salaries cost are very high and payable all the months). It is important now that David make a communication on the forum and the newsletter, and Frontier brings the interest to the players during the three months of waiting
