General / Off-Topic How did you select your avatar image?

Mine started as a bet with my wife. After reading about the gamer-gate thing, she bet me that if I signed up to a gaming forum with a feminine looking avatar, someone would send me an anatomical picture within 3 months.. So far, I'm winning the bet. The feminine pictures in question is from an old neuromancer book.

I am little bit into photography. So on a very bright winter night I took 9 pictures of moon with an old manual 400mm lens.
Then I stacked those 9 photos into one in registax and then made some adjustments in photoshop

I was very surpised how much detail that old 400mm lens captured

Mine is a mine. Really. The proxy mine from Unreal Tournament.

I use some version of it on game forums and other game related avatars if they let me upload my own.

I've been a long time fan of H. R. Giger's artwork (since Alien I suppose) and had this image as a framed poster on my wall for many many years (I still own it but alas it's been consigned to the attic now I'm a family man). It's entitled "Future Kill".

.... because it's a trumble.

Looks like a lesser spotted Tribble to me. [yum]

It might sound a bit off topic, but...

How did you select your avatar image to be used in profile?

As an artificial construct I had to route my ambient signal through a tessellation field visualiser, from there it was simply a case of augmenting the visual spectrum emissions to be favourable for the human visual cortex. Simples.

Saw this pic years ago and liked it. Been using it as a test image ever since so it was handy when I signed up on the forum :)
