Hi all
I find the details for Beta Access very confusing and wonder if anyone can provide clarification.
======= Backer Account =======
I backed E
as ‘Federal Trader’ to the tune of £37 back in December, and in the desktop app it looks like this:
Total Backed: £37.00 Reward Credit: £0.00
My Rewards
Federal Trader
• Federal Trader: Have the option to start in a Federal border system with a basic Cobra Mk III loaded with cargo worth 1,000 CR and 1,000 CR in cash (randomised system choice for multiplayer reasons).
• Download a digital copy of the official sequel to “The Dark Wheel” novel.
• Imperial Bounty Hunter: Have the option to start in an Imperial Colony with an Imperial Eagle Mk II Fighter with upgraded weapons and shields and 1,000 CR (randomised start system choice for multiplayer reasons).
• Receive a digital copy of the game and 500 credits when starting a new game.
• Reserve your Commander name in the game (first come, first served, except Jameson).
• Receive the digital newsletter and progress updates.
• Be an Elite supporter, and get a digital code when the game is released to apply a transferrable decal to your ship, unique to you, the game’s backers.
[ETC]
When I log into the E
Online Store, it shows only £30(not £37):
Items Ordered
Product Name SKU Price Qty Subtotal
Subtotal £30.00
Grand Total £30.00
Elite: Dangerous FORC-FDEV-D-1003 £30.00 Ordered: 1 £30.00
Which is peculiar, but I’m not too stressed about it and am sure I’ll get the items I backed for…
However this also reflects on my next(and the main reason I am posting) questions regarding Beta Access:
======= Beta Access =======
I am potentially interested in Beta Access, but the available options and some of the FAQ wording aren’t too clear cut(to me anyway!)
From this thread: http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=14555
So, the wording here leads me to believe that purchasing the £100 Premium Beta gives not only Beta access, but also a copy of the full game pre-order(£35) and also the E
Expansion Pass(£35) ?
If so, the £100 cost appears to be good value for money, however, what does this mean with regards to the £37 I have already spent?
If I were to purchase the Beta Access, it would completely nullify almost everything I paid for when I backed(with the exception of a few items)
If this is indeed the case, then it feels as though backing was a waste of time and I might as well have waited and just bought the Beta Pass?
I would like to join Beta, but I can't justify paying another £100 on top of what I’ve already spent when it will render my original purchase almost completely useless.
If you were to tell me that this scenario has already been considered, and they will deduct the £37 from the £100 Beta cost, then consider me sold and I’ll sign up now.
Sorry for such a long post and hope it makes sense
