If someone could investigate this a bit more: it looks like some nebulas in game have a "dark region" around them. Pleiades included. It doesn't seem like any of the barnacles we have found have been in the pink or green part of the nebula gas. The systems we have found barnacles in look like they form a perimeter around the nebula, in the "dark region". If anyone has better blacks on their screen than I do that could confirm this?

Help...... I'm stuck in the Pleiades nebula in a stripped down racing Cobra MK3 at Darnielle's Progress. It only has B3 FSD...... that only has 5.95LY jump range and i literally cannot get more than that. Literally cannot plot a route back to the bubble...... And there is no shipyard..........

what size is your fuel tank?
Im guessing you sold your good FSD ... and now cant buy it back ?
Oh yeah, you bet. I got here, stripped the Cobra down because I THOUGHT Darnielle's Progress had good outfitting, apparently not.
Managed to pull a top speed of 464 m/s out of that Cobra though. I'm either gonna make a support thread about it, or just crash into the ground at full boost speed, then take the Sidewinder to get me to LHS 3447.
So if anyone wants to come out to Darnielle's Progress on Maia A2a n git they azz whooped in a race, I'll be here for a minute before defaulting to LHS 3447.
edit: actually just kidding, no A4 thrusters anymore. I hate this place

if you can get an 8t fuel tank, that will give you the most efficient jump range for your craft. you'll need a scoop, though. good luck.

Had been thinking about investigating that area at some soonish future point.
Totally different nebula type yes, but it also was featured as one of the nebula in the vote where to build the station in a nebula CG.
So at some point it must have been considered as a possible location, along with witch's head and a few others, but this was AFTER the barnacles pointed at MEROPE. So that did have quite a influence where the station would be built.
Long time ago i flew through there, but well before all this tin foil so could be worth a scan or few.
Since we are on the topic of Dark Regions, they ARE classified as nebulae, DARK NEBULAE.
Honestly, nebulae sound like a cool place to put things, but DARK nebulae sound like a place to put well.... dark... things.

Just realized how difficult it is to get up to the BOVOMIT sectors.
I believe there is something up there that can help us with this, but due to time constraints, I don't think I can make it.
If you look at those systems, instead of the usual "Unknown permit required" we have " Requires"
This I think is very important. And in my excitement, off I went with two MAs in the hold. However, Draw Wagner has stated that there is something to be found up there... and there has been since the Beta. So that excludes MAs. Whoops.
I think that, from the cannon, all that is required -is simply weapons. So. A question. Has anyone ever travelled up there loaded for Bear?

He stated there was something to be found. I don't know that he said were, other than the rift, and there is no confirmation of exactly were that is.
