Anyone heading to Sagittarius A

Hi all,

I plan to arrive at Sagittarius A in the next week or 2 and wondered if anyone else was planning an arrival then too? I'd love to get a screen shot of my ship the 'RV Edelweiss' in the company of another ship or even more. Once there I don't even mind hanging around for a few days for others to arrive.

ah man, missed by a few days :( never mind. Was it worth the trip? haha

Not sure what I'll when I get there, probably just collect as much data as possible and then head back to Sol as my canopy is looking the worse for wear.

I'm heading out there now, not even half-way, and I'll probably be way behind you. It's taking me much longer than I thought. (Well, the journey isn't, but finding time IRL is.)

Safe travels; maybe I'll pass you on your way back!

I'm still about 9,000 LY from Sagittarius A, which is about a weeks worth of game time for me. I'll post on here when I'm there and if you're in the neighbourhood, let me know :) If not, as you say, I'll wave as we pass on my way back ;)

Me too, I still have 9kly to go.
But I'm planning to reach Sagittarius A* tomorrow!
Any chances? :D
I cannot wait any longer since I have to join the DW-Expedition before they enter their final Stage 5...

And no, is not yet pure buckyballing. ;)

Hope to see you, if not, I send you a postcard. :D

Got to with 7,000ly of Sag A now, but I am still probably a good 5 days away. My plan is to hang around in the general vicinity once I'm there. So if anyone arrives in the next couple of weeks let me know and I'll just head over for a quick buddy screen shot :)

so I'm looking forward to your postcard lol

Yeaaaah! :D

There's a Lady with a Corvette waiting for you.

In her defence, she does ask nicely that you leave, I assume forthwith, so any pics you wish to take must probably be attended to with all due haste lest you choke on the lead and laser sandwich she will no doubt attempt to force-feed you should you not timeously heed her warning......

Fair Solar Winds and better-than-average armour plating to you, CMDR.

yes I have heard about the lady with a Corvette. Is she still there? ;) She had better be hungry, as she is going to be tasting my plasma vents hahahaha

Quick question as I have never been to to Sagittarius A before. Where do I actually go to get to Sag A? The screen shot attached shows the black hole I assume as the milky cloud in the middle. Which system am I heading for though?

Make simply a search on the galmap with "Sagittarius A*". You always forget the asterisk behind the letter A. ;)
Sagittarius A without asterisk is not only the black hole.

I think in this picture you have non sequence stars turned off, or else you would be able to click it

I was on the way there myself but made the unfortunate mistake of throttling back after entering FSD and going AFK. You don't actually come to a complete stop at neutral throttle while in supercruise and I was away long enough to get too close to a white dwarf. It ate through 50% of my hull and dropped all of my modules to between 35%-55%.

I'm limping home now but plan to immediately get back toward my goal once I've made the necessary repairs. I'll be "buckyballing" it so, who knows, I MAY get there in time for a meet up. I'll keep a watch on this thread.

I'm currently on my way there, but god knows when i'll arrive, i'm not taking the most direct, well beaten route and I keep getting distracted with interesting looking planets begging me to land on them and look around.

Fit your ship with an AFMu to be able to repair your modules! ;)
Hull down at 50% is not the end of the world and you can continue next time.

Definitely on my way, but I don't know when I will arrive. I'm strolling along happily exploring the odd system that I think is interesting (and that are those with landfal planets in them, for now). Scanning the system and landing on planets kind of slows things down :), but I'm not in a hurry

Safe flying,
CMDR Jermus
