For explorers

Cracked canopy, around 1% from death, 18k LY out when it happened, made it home the same as Leo, very very careful plotting and flying, but that was prior to 1.5/2.0 when we couldn't repair canopies.

Same story. First time to Sag A* in my beloved Asp 'Damocles'. Crawled home with a canopy cracked and a hull blistered and battered. Careful plotting.

I passed completely through a star exiting hyper a week or so ago, coming out the other side of the star to stop in front of the companion star. Apparently I was still too much in a different "frame" to interact with the star I shot through, so I took no damage and even gained no heat that I noticed. If the pair were closer together I guess I could have been cooked. There was a moment of "NOOOOOO!"...followed by a moment of "YESSSSSS!".

400 light years from the bubble in the early days of the game. I was interdicted by an NPC Asp and decided (for whatever reason) to fight. I was doing well, when the Asp turned and rammed me. Luckily, my shields ended up taking the brunt of the impact, and I ended up holding on with 1% hull remaining. I did manage to make it to safety.

This happened to me tonight. Wasn't sure what the flip was going on, momentary distortion on HS exit, crazy colour filled the screen then I must have passed through the neighbour star and came to rest in front of the primary. Happened so fast I wasn't aware of how close I'd come to being cooked until seconds later.

2 days ago about 3 jumps from Sag A I popped in to system right on a Brown Dwarf that was orbiting a K class star. I mean like I was IN the star. I got the warning message and the emergency drop message IN the star and I thought UH OHH that's all she wrote. Then My screen blinked and I was suddenly about 150 LS away from both of them, no hull or module damage. WHEW!!!!

On my return from Beagle point i collided with a T7 in the slot.... That was scary moment (many ELWs passed before my eyes)... lost around 50% hull

I started my journey around the galaxy, and after a few hundred light years I landed on a 1.4 g planet, roughly. Lost 50 % of my hull, so I limped back to inhabited space for repairs.

Now I'm at 97 % hull integrity and about 9000 ly away (at Eta Carina nebula).

A few months ago, I was crossing from Outer to Scutum arm, at 95% hull after a couple of stupid unintended emergency SC drops.

But then, it was the morning after Horizons, and being very excited to try planetary landings went down to a small moon and made a picture perfect touchdown at the bottom of a small cráter. Perfecto. I've got it on tape. Ohhhh, awe and wonder and OMG and all that...

Takeoff, gaining altitude, pitch down a little for a second landing attempt, press Boost by accident, full speed into deck, cracking noises, tumbling, shields down and 65% hull... swearing in klingon, I returned to orbit very carefully and continued my journey, and to this day I always keep my thumb far from the Boost button at landings. Until my return to the bubble, at last.

Trust me CMDR I'm very careful and still run into anomalies like passing through stars on HS exit or HS exiting between a binary. You cant mitigate that with careful flying. Its just a matter of time.

Those accidents aren't fatal, as long as you're careful. As an Elite Explorer, my opinion is just as valid as any other Elite Explorer's. ;)

Never said it wasn't CMDR. Not sure what your Elite rank has to do with the conversation, I was simply clarifying examples of near misses which you cannot plan against with careful flying.
