Stranded!

You might open a support ticket and ask for a teleport to a nearby system. They might say no, but they might say yes....

I've self destructed and back home I'm afraid! Currently selling my fleet to fund an Anaconda but thanks for the advice!

Is it possible to swap materials with another player? I couldn't see a way for it to be possible because if it's discarded it just disappears doesn't it?

Not to worry though, but thanks for your advice and thoughts! I'm about to hit the self destruct button and take the short way home. While I might not get the tags or credits, I still have the screenshots and the experience for next time. It's not the first time I've returned to the bubble without my ship and I'm sure it won't be the last!

Fly safe, commanders. o7

Yeah that was your only option I'm afraid. Still kudos for getting a Cobra stranded out there! When you explore the galaxy long enough mistakes are a matter of when, not if, we've all been there. I blew my Asp up on the surface of a 6+g planet two days after Horizons went live, I've lost my Vulture a couple of times in combat zones, I totalled a mining T6 against an asteroid about a year ago, it ain't called Elite Dangerous for nothing! :)

That's the new thing. Pilots that mess up ask support to fix it. All the cool kids do it :D

Yeah, I've noticed that too, hence my remark. I hope fdev put at stop to it. It began when they started teleporting explorers to Sol and back when the exploding SRV bug struck, and people inevitably started taking the mick.

For some reason they couldn't replace the SRV on the road, so that was the only solution.

Being sent back and forth because of a bug and not having the option of it being replaced where they were, doesn't deserve to be taken the mick of. The SRV is a vital factor in the DW trip. If it explodes through to player error, that's just tough, live with it. If it's because of a bug, FD should remedy that situation.

That's so unfortunate we can't exchange Jumponium... i'm not really far from you, and would be really please to share some materials...

Nah, I'm not getting it confused, just don't have Horizons being on Xbox and assumed they were the same. Why they're not makes no sense to me. I know the times in the past when we've done it have been different cases, where the SRV was destroyed so we had to mine it and they collected it in their ship. But this is different.

Yes you are a bit confused. As others have said you cannot transfer, I know what you are referring to since I was online during that rescue. The fuel rats used srvs to shoot the materials from ground objects and the stranded cmdr scooped them in his ship. Key point being in that case there was a planet with jumponium, at no point did the fuel rat ships transfer anything, they just helped with finding materials. In this case there were no planets with suitable materials.

In answer to the Op yes the only 2 options are support ticket or the red button. Or wait until a future update where we may or may not be able to transfer. Good luck with your new endeavours :)

For anybody else that finds them self in the same situation, there is one other EXTREMELY remote possibility.

If you can find a crashed ship that has a cargo container, you can shoot it open and sometimes you can find materials inside that are NOT "native" to the planet that you're on i.e. outside of the 3 2 1 rule of materials found on planets.

It would have about the same chance (or less) of winning the jackpot in a lottery, and you'd probably go mad long before you found the right material needed to jump out, but it is a possibility.

Too bad the OP had to take the self destruct.
One of the suggestions made actually DOES work: I have successfully jumped a distance beyond what my FSD is capable by heading toward the target system in supercruise until I've closed the distance gap. Once the target system is within your jump range you can make the jump. It does take hours of flying at 2,001c but it can be done.
