Based on your description, I think a more accurate term according to the dichotomy for this outlaw is a Marauder. However since they're out there in a corvette, they're likely a Coward Marauder but they could be a Reaving Marauder given we don't know if they specifically target weaker ships or any ships.

He's probably not out there to fight all the well-armed combat ships and fighter wings.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: People who do stuff like that aren't attacking player characters, they are attacking other players. No need to honor them with any role-playing titles.

EDIT: Forget it. I'm at work already saw the OP post fully. A Fed Corv? LOOOOL. He can take my lowest sympathies for doing such journey with that range. Against it, well, 2 people must join with condas and take the crap out of him. One might not be enough and it's the only ship that can take a Corvette; with enough jump range to avoid suicides along the way, that is xD. I don't own one though.

They're not doing anything contrary to the developers' vision of the ethos of the game, so yes, it's rather strange that we're not supposed to say who they are. ^^

Sorry OP... seeing an armed Fed Corvette in Sag A* doesn't straight up means that he is a griefer or he means not good...

CMDR Anuranium, CMDR Metta and many others have been in Sag A* stationed for periods of times GUARDING Sag A* from griefers...IN FULLY ARMED ANACONDAS, not less... we have a couple of Fed Corvettes flying with us in the Distant Worlds Expedition.. one of them might have dropped and stayed in Sag A*... I dunno.. but there are many reasons why someone armed was in Sag A* besides griefing..

My point being that not because you see an armed ship now in deep space, that straight out means they are out to get you... for the longest, I flew on a fully equipped Asp ready for action in case I was met with a troublemaker... and this was before the first sniper at Sag A*... in fact, the DWE is the first trip I am making with no weapons.. but with Horizons now, more and more explorers will come out not only with shields but weapons too... for all we know, Thargoids might be upon us any time...

So, let's not call an apple, an apple, just because is red... did this cmdr started to follow you? opened communications? interdicted you?

alas, we need more than just "saw an armed Fed Corv at Sag A*" before calling it a griefer simply because of that..

Some more info would be appreciated...

Hah yeah assuming that he's actually jumped a ship that when rigged for combat has one of the lowest jump ranges in the game all the way to Sag A and not used jump hacks to do it. I assume that FD do actually check this...

Having noted the mod comments above, all I can really say is that the mindset of someone who will go to those lengths (regardless of whether by fair means or foul) to do nothing but trash the experience of commanders as they make one of the defining journeys of the game, with the biggest effect of his actions no doubt being preventing people from hooking up in open whilst they are there, is something that I will never understand or have any kind of empathy with.

Some people are just broken.

I am friends with the commander in question. (No, it's not me :p )

Firstly, she is female - seeing everyone refer to her as "he" is quite funny.

Secondly, no she has not actually fired a shot as of yet. Just interdicted people and asked them to leave the system.

Thirdly, she is reading this thread and honestly the more you insult her the more likely she is to start actually killing people. Something to bear in mind.

She is also not a griefer, there is a reason for doing it.

As far as referring to her as 'he', it does tend to be the standard simply because we have to use a pronoun of some kind and constantly typing him/her is cumbersome.

As for 'a reason for doing it' I for one would love to know what reason your friend has for deciding to threaten players to make them leave Sag A. If she learns to speak for herself, perhaps she will pop on here and enlighten us because at best it sounds quite breathtakingly selfish right now.

No one is insulting, yet, but i dont understand what is her right to drive people off from Sag A?

Oh, and you can ask her to come and defend herself if she reads this forum and if she has the balls. ;)

She has the right to do it because no one can stop her - right by conquest! ;)

A minor correction to my previous statement as well, she has not actually interdicted anyone, just asked them to leave the system. OP just scanned her, saw weapons and assumed the worst.

Honestly I regret posting, I feel that people are taking their anger out on me. Don't shoot the messenger!

I cannot help but think that she'll be needing reinforcements though........

I feel sympathies for CMDRs after a long trek have to deal with this, and go into Solo and spent all the time they want there.
