Ship Builds & Load Outs Prospecting Anaconda build

I don't use one myself but an all turret build drops the DPS significantly down to 30 - 40% with the pulse and burst lasers and around 55% with the beams, I'd change the huge and 2 large to gimbals for a lot more DPS (up from 40 to 65).
 
Went a bit of a different way since I mostly end up in pristine rings just outside the bubble, a lot quieter there...

Slightly more cargo, slightly less shielding, slightly different weapons.
I'm on a higher cost for that 7A powerplant getting me slightly better heat dissipation.

Very similar overall though, I'd leave out the point defence for chaff or boosters since it's pretty useless atm. The only time point defence is useful is when your shields are down and cargo hatch limpets or torpedoes are coming in. 95%+ of the time your shields will be up so you'll really want a better bonus imo.

A bit cheaper than your setups, but fully functional still. I am not aiming to get it A rated any time soon and will stay at D rated for most parts, except i will change shields to A a little later and probably a C powerplant to get more shield boosters on there.
So far no issues with defense, as that is what it is supposed to do, not offense. Take me from station to the ring, and back alive. If i get hull damage from an assault, it is alright, i know it is no king of dps, but to only take me home partly in one piece. If poop happens.

I do some lighter combat from time to time and it do fine with that too. Combat is not my main profession, just a distraction at times.

The DPS only goes up if you are landing shots. By that argument you should encourage fixed weapons as they increase it even more. How much time do turrets spend landing hits? I haven't used turrets yet (they don't seem worthwhile on an agile craft like the Cobra) but my DPS went WAY up when I switched from fixed to gimalled because I have a hard time aiming with an XBox controller. I'd imagine turrets on an Anaconda would have the same benefit.
 
A medium mining laser will need 3 - 4 collectors to keep pace with it so at least 2 x class 3 or a class 5 + a class 3.

Successfully tested against opportunist Python NPCs on a number of occasions. The smart miner doesn't drop into a RES, but into the ring a bit away.
Problem is it's too big and slow for my preference for mining. I much prefer the size and speed of the Python in that regard.

Does having 2 collector controllers let you run 2x the amount of limpets?

You should see it with 10 collector drones. :)

Last time I tried mining was waaay before drones. Didn't last long.
 
My Mineconda is weaponless except for the mining lasers. 4D shields, 3x5A collectors and 320 tons of space. I obviously only mine in isolated rings and if I see anyone coming close I boost away and move to another area in the same ring.
