I sent an email to get the discount code so i can pay the upgrade price, and not yet received a discount code to buy the alpha access.

What times do they check emails up to on any given day? i emailed as stated above support@zaonce.net

I suggest uninstalling the current client and installer (alpha 1.1 issued to beta backers) and go to the store. Go to "My Downloadable Products" and you should be able to see both alpha and beta there. Select the alpa (natch, you don't need beta any more) and re-install. Then get a new code if asked.

If you've done that, well new codes by e-mail should be a matter of minutes. Check your spam filter.

He was asking how long it takes support to answer with a discount codes. The store stopped applying automatic discounts to upgrades to Alpha, you have to contact support for a code.

As for the download, he doesn't have to uninstall or redownload anything. Just open the launcher and let it patch. The launcher is the same no matter what pledge tier you're on, it'll automatically download the latest version you're eligible for.

When did you email them?

Response time will obviously vary depending on the amount of mail they're getting so it's kind of hard to say but I think they're aiming for within 24 hours (if there isn't a weekend/holiday of course). Frontier is based in the UK so the times they check and respond to mail should be regular UK working hours.

Got a reply and code today from Laurie in support (Thanks again Laurie), so I don't know if they now work Saturdays or if this is just a special case over easter.

This whole discount and coupon thing was also not working for me.
I just had liked to know what the Alpha 4.0 costs for someone with a certain KS pledge before wasting time with going through the online store.

The way how this purchasing is working smells me a bit too much like some phishing of some sort.
I don't say it is phishing but that trouble around it reminds me a bit of it.:(

I guess I just wait for my Beta and let them work out the mess.
I just hope that marketing will improve in time as the dev team did.
Still looking so forward to the game.:)

Quick question to those that have upgraded to Alpha from Premium Beta recently:
I backed ED at the 100GBP level before the kickstarter stage finished, which means I have the premium beta purchase in my order list at the Zaonce Store, which is all well and good. However, I want to upgrade to Alpha yet the difference discount isn't showing up at any stage so far and I don't want to plunge into the purchase if the full price is going to continue through to my credit card.
For everyone that has done the upgrade, when does the discount show? Is it in the shopping cart, the checkout, or after the "place order" button in the order review page is clicked?

The discount is meant to show a tthe 'Order Review' stage. It seems to be broken at the moment as I have been toying with the idea of Alpha 4. It's just getting too much :)

Ive been bitten by the bug and cant resist buying into the alpha!
Want to be able to map my controllers and get a taste of a more complete experience!

Damn holidays, guess we wont see any discount codes until thuesday earliest =/

I thought as much, pity too cause I would have been trying all the new stuff out all weekend :)

Lots of game crashes unfortunately. Hopefully its just server side issues not my system. Cockpit graphics look nicer, frame rate seems good, but drops somewhat when inside the station. Managed to land on my 2nd attempt, 1st one the game crashed. I haven't experienced any long delays with the spinning ship when choosing multiplayer as others have reported.

Sound is improved with your ship's voice announcing certain events. The single player scenarios are still there, only played 1 and 2 so far.

Another commander was hanging around over my bay when I came in to land. He then moved off and I approached the pad only to be warned that I was "loitering". I moved off a bit and came back. As I was landing I heard an explosion and saw debris flying. I guess it was the same fellow; maybe he was getting lag or something.

Now back to some more playing.:cool:

Just wanted to mention the great and quick support I got from mr "Kenny Wildman" who have refunded me the cost of the premium beta after I have bought first the beta and then the alpha during this weekend!
