Description: The Federation Capital Ship Vanguard was in distress and attacked by a Farragut class ship marked as Pirate in Fuelum. Players protected the Vanguard and drove the pirates out of Fuelum, saving the crew of The Vanguard in the process.
Commanders from Iridium Wing were passing through Fuelum on March 12th, upon entering the system they dropped to a distress call to assist. What unfolded in front of their eyes, none of them expected. The Federal Capital Ship Vanguard appeared on their radars and as they turned to face the Battle Cruiser they realized, it was not there to assist another vessel, it was in fact in distress itself. A large portion of the Vanguards frame shift drives appeared to be offline, this much was evident from the plumes of smoke bellowing from the ship.The Fuel Rats immediately raised the alert through all its means of communication with the galaxy at large.
But before anyone had time to respond to the capital ships distress call a secondary capital ship dropped in. It was a Farragut Class Battle Cruiser. The members of the Iridium Wing breathed a sigh of relief as they thought the distress call had been answered. The Vanguard would be saved and the situation was almost at a close. However what they were about to discover would shock them to their very core. CMDR Anna2103 from Iridium Wing began a scan of the second capital ship. The result came back and she was awe struck by what she saw. The Farragut Battle Cruiser was marked as a pirate. It was not affiliated with any group or other organisation. It began an assault on The Vanguard and Iridium wing responded with force. Firing upon the pirate capital ship they called for support from all sources across the galaxy, not wanting to see the women and men of The Vanguard die at the hands of pirates.
Continued fire upon the pirate Farragut from iridium Wing, The Fuel Rats and other assorted Commanders eventually took some of its systems offline and the ship jumped out of the Fuelum System. Many questions remain unanswered in the wake of this incident. How was The Vanguard so heavily battle damaged to the point of needing to make a distress call? Why are pirates in possession of Farragut Battle Cruiser? How will the Federation react to one of its capital ships being set upon by a Farragut pirate capital ship, even if it was not under their control at the time? But arguably most importantly, where have the pirates taken the Farragut Battle Cruiser now, and what else do they plan to do with it. Only one thing is for certain now, The Federation has some serious explaining to do as to how they lost a capital ship to pirates.

This brazen attempt at subjugating a population which has already overwhelmingly shown their opposition was beaten back in a week long campaign spearheaded by Communism Interstellar and supported by a coalition of fiercely independent groups, including some who wish to remain anonymous. We acknowledge the weighty contributions of The Mercs of Mikunn, The Null and our distantly located Comrades ICU who were instrumental in this success.
We are now aware of a need for more pragmatic tolerance of ideological differences and a focus on that which brings us together, namely mutual defence from common enemies.

So why should politicians decide what products may or may not be produced, if it impacts on our members financial wellbeing. Our newer members rely on rare trade commodities to invest in better ships and equipment and prohibiting production because of politics is something we oppose. This is why we intend to take action in a number of systems to restore rare trade commodities to the commodities markets.

Mystery surrounds the loss of the spaceliner 'Aurora' last night in the LP 838-16 system. Rescue teams responded immediately to a distress call but only found wreckage of the ship. So far there has been no sign of any survivors despite an extensive search.
The Aurora was one of the newest ships in the Ocelot Spaceways fleet and was part of the first batch of Imperial Cutters delivered by Gutamaya. earlier this year. It was travelling on a routine tourist flight from Baiawa to Flech
Captain Riess , leading the search teams, expressed his dismay at the lack of survivors.
"There were over 300 people on board that thing. You can't tell me that none of them made it off the ship before it blew."

Various media outlets throughout inhabited space received an anonymous communiqué this morning.
“The galactic community is in peril,” the message began. “They just don’t know it yet.”
The transmission expounded that coverups surrounding Antares, Starship One, corruption in Core Dynamics, the Emperor’s Dawn insurgency, and setbacks in AOE research are all linked. It also asserts that the deaths of VP Nigel Smeaton, Sean Richards, Arnold Lowe, Susan Monroe, Elaine Boyd, Emperor Hengist Duval, and the disappearances of former president Jasmina Halsey and professor Ishmael Palin are similarly connected.
The transmission concludes, “Many who have tried to connect these seemingly disparate events have been silenced, along with their sources. Thus the need for me to remain anonymous. As yet, only pawns have been revealed in this shadowy game. We must discover the king, and soon.”
Federal and Imperial governments declined to comment on the transmission, dismissing it as a conspiracy theory.
