"I Want It All" Queen of Sag A* in Open - take care

I'm detecting a fair amount of hate there. I'd recommend having a conversation with the people who your are pouring vitriol on before arbitrarily labeling them.

You might be surprised.
I indeed think it's a result of not knowing the person we're talking about.

I went as far as calling her not a nice person, which needs the qualifier: when she's shooting at explorers in Saggy A* she is not being a nice person. Since we're talking about 0.001% of this persons life, these actions don't tell us anything about her personally.

So ... all my judgements here have been aimed at her actions, not her as a person. I don't think she reads this thread, but if she does, I apologize if this came over that way. All I am saying is: me no likey shooty explory.

It all really boils down to not having a good PR officer. :)

I formally request a permit for entering and exploring the Sagitartius A* system from the first human explorer to "claim" the system. Permit should include rights to all materials found in said system and the legal ability to graffiti "Useless Reptile" on any planetary surface I see fit. :)

This I gotta see...

Z...

Absolutely agree, it would seem claiming sovereignty to a landmark in a video game is childish and un-acceptable..

but name calling and ridicule on a public forum by those that consider themselves mature and intelligent is not.

Sorry, but even after reading the "oh it's just RP, she's a nice person" arguments I'm not cool with all of it.

Main reason: why the hell should I play her roleplay?

I wouldn't mind at all if she brought company to Sag A* to do some kind of battleship maneuvers, or bloody witch rituals, or picnics, or whatever, as long as she plays alone or with friends in a closed consensual group. Do as you please. Sure it would be very weird to enter the system and see a fully armed Fed Corv there but that would only be a problem if she threatened someone...

...and threatening people that don't have a permit is what she is doing. Nobody has to be forced to play that personal RP. She doesn't have that right, even by force.

And that's why I really hope that soon someone send that queen child back to the bubble. Let's see if she will take another six months to drag that Corv back to Sag A*.

You know what's the thing about all this.

She could have had class, she could have been a contender. All she had to do is change the narrative.

Hi! I'm CMDR Amidala,

Because I love explorers so much, I bought the company. Wait ... that's spatulas. Let me try again ...

There are these many beautiful sites in the Galaxy, and the explorers give those in the bubble a peek at the many wonders of this galaxy. Explorers who venture out in the dark for little pay, devoting a great deal of time and effort to documenting and reporting about them. Therefore I, Queen Amadila, declare Sagittarius A* a safe haven for these intrepid explorers. No bobblehead with guns who bumbles into Sagittarius A* shall bother them, for I, Queen Amadila, will protect them.

Bam. Instant devotion of many CMDRs. Hat's off all around.

Instead we got lies and cake.
This. She could have done something like that. I would be one encouraging that kingdom. Something like other CMDRs did before, as guardians of peace, not a ruler using the right of conquest.

Go bother somebody else, pseudo-majesty.

I'm slightly tempted to buy another account for this, blow stuff up for a day and Buckyball out there with a Viper like Scatman Crothers. But I s'pose they can just low-wake away from anything short of another Corvette or a Cutter. Meh. Frustrating being stuck on the wrong side of the galaxy!

You can have this rock. :)

I just wanted to notify the queen that i caught some explorer littering at GRU POE JB-V D3-2 ! In the interest of environmental preservation, you might want to take ownership of that system too !

I didn't name anyone. I also didn't ridicule anyone. I also started my reply with the words "Its an individual opinion" and it's an opinion I am not going to change. You may need to google the meaning of words before using them to accuse people of saying things they clearly have never said.
Feel free to reanalyse my post and requote me. My full post is below for your perusal, unedited. I suggest you re read it, carefully.

"This is my own interpretation of griefing. It's an individual opinion.
I'm guessing this is with reference to 'griefer' a sub set of players in any online game who go about with the purposeful intent of deliberately spoiling the gaming experience for other players.
E.g. Waiting at SagA* to kill players, however other examples of this behaviour exist. A griefer 'fleet' has apparently been slowly tracking the DW fleet since January.
No penalty for this behaviour exists in this game as far as I am aware. It is penalised in other online gaming environments, often with a ban or account freezing.
In ED it usually occurs in open however pve groups like Möbius have been infiltrated by organised griefer groups. It is thinly veiled as 'role playing' behaviour in ED.
I'm guessing the modus operandi of these sad, lonely, immature dysfunctional losers would be:
11-20yr old players wanting to 'prove' themselves in an online environment. They have few friends, are probably not in any meaningful physical relationship and are/were probably bullied at school, they are deeply insecure in real life with little to no chance of actually 'proving themselves' outside of this gaming environment.
Solution: get some fresh air/girlfriend-boyfriend/life combo and grow up."

I've been thinking that it would be great to buy a second account to use regularly and to just keep the first account parked at Saggy A with a PvP equipped Anaconda. Then the next time some ganker or griefer decides to shoot down explorers, just fire up the first account and take them out. If a few of us did that then we could stay out there indefinitely if we always winged up to counter any threats.

That means that the ganker can be dealt with immediately rather than having to travel all the way out to Saggy A each time. No waiting around for weeks on end protecting the place before getting bored. And if you bring a fuel limpet controller you can also serve as an emergency fuel rat, possibly for yourself if need be. It would serve as a permanent presence in the galactic core able to move more quickly to any part of the galaxy.

Only downside is having to start from scratch with a new account as your main one.

I like that idea. It would take some a while to get a serious ship ready but I'll have more time spare in a couple of weeks. It would be very nice to have a standing posse.

Saw a screenshot of a comms window where he/she wrote "Hi, I am the queen of Sagittarius A*. please leave, thank you."

Definitely some roleplay going on, but a bit inconsistent with the whole "permit scheme" when you don't stick to your script. I'd like to hear if pilots who pledged to an imperial power get the same negative treatment, in which case I'll gladly take a few ALD combat ships to correct that corruption.

You must have missed the memo, she isn't roleplaying as a Federation CMDR. Or not directly anyhow. Her roleplay involves limiting the number of visitors to Sag A* as her roleplay believes the high numbers are having a environmental affect on the galaxy.

She can stick to her beliefs if she can stick to her script, we'll be waiting for screenshots proving direct threat or harm from a federal ship to Imperial-pledged pilots and assess whether it's legitimate or corrupt.

Let's roleplay too.

PS: Personally I think this story is exciting, and an interesting move. I would gladly support this kind of emergent playing style.

We could help each other out in earning money by using our experienced accounts. Take the new sidewinder to a hazardous resource extraction site in a private group, wing up with an armed Anaconda and make sure to get the last hit in on the target. After just the first short session you can earn a couple of million credits. This means that you can quickly upgrade to a much better ship. Or buy the biggest transporter that you can afford and have an armed escort if you are an experienced trader and know some profitable routes. Ranking up would also be a lot easier with help.

The more people in the posse the better because it is much harder to fight off multiple enemies taking down your shields and retreating to recharge their shields than a single ship. Even a single armed Asp Explorer would make for good bait to drag a griefer into a fight. Before Distant Worlds my husband and I used to wing up in RES, he would be in the bigger ship and I would be in the smaller more nimble one taking out the faster enemies who would sap his shields.

Haven't personally been to Saggy A* yet, but from what I read here, the indications of corruption/extortion are clearly there:
- she requires to fill in a form (no idea if any further contributions are required)
- she decides on her personal whim whether the application is granted or not (decision criteria have not been made public yet)
- if the application is not granted, visitors are required to leave under the threat of weapons (reputedly, one visitor ship was already destroyed)

However, I've yet to read about anything connecting her to a major power (apart from herself calling her "Queen"). Would an imperial Queen use a federation built ship as her main base? Can there be a Queen afilliated with the Federation?

Like this - especially the bit about the Ratting. Resupplying limpets may be a bit problematic, though. Regular supply runs?

I'll just wait for the next christmas sale - might be worth getting a couple of baseline accounts for occasions like this.

It would be quite easy to swap accounts every now and again. Fly off to Saggy A* with your primary account, a better ship with limpets and return with your secondary account parked at Saggy A* to cash in kill warrants and exploration data. And who knows what other supplies we might be wanting to bring in from the bubble with the new updates.

All you'd need is one trusted friend and your own primary account.

Pass over a hold full of expensive goods to your friend from your primary account, sign out and back in with your secondary and they pass it back. Sell, rinse and repeat.
