Summary of 2.1 "The Engineers" changes+additions from the dev updates and newsletters

?This epically super important enhancement is already on the list in the OP? Just search for the word "clock" ;)

Doh! sorry.

By the way, there's quite a good synopsis of the exploration livestream with Michael Brookes over here ...

Another one on that list is that the AFMU (and I searched the OP for AFMU this time NeilF) should have mass. Can't recall if that was just a passing comment or an actual 2.1 change tho.

Community Goals will appear in the bulletin board at every starport.

Community Goals may have multiple commodities involved in their completion.

I mentioned it on last week's Educating Ed live stream.

Will add that when there is a source.

Btw, may I pester you about some details concerning the bookmarks? Will they be filter-able + sort-able and will there be a limit to how many each player can create of them?

I wonder when the Beta will be released for this? Plus I hope that this time people will properly test all aspects as I think last time everybody just had fun on the fancy bits, which kinda ruined the testing purpose.

Sandro Sammarco has discussed various changes to the way Criminality works and how Powerplay may change aswell, although as far as I know he has not offered dates for any of these things. There is therefore a chance that they may be in 2.1. At the moment all of these are just potential, not confirmed.

Criminality: faster reaction time and strength by local authority in higher sec systems, and viceversa, added penalties for players killing other players based on difference in rank/power, docking permissions denied, interstellar bounties, etc

Powerplay: increased efficiency of Powerplay actions in Open (not increase in merits or rank or benefits, just powerplay action progress)

Criminality changes I d expect to have a fair chance to make it to 2.1. Powerplay changes, not so sure.

Don't you think that the onus should be on FD (i.e. QA etc.) to identify and fix all the major issues and the majority of the less serious ones? Beta should be used for the odd minor issue and corner cases. Besides, in the case of the bugged missions, it seems to me that FD were really up against it to meet the Horizons launch deadline so in the end they didn't have time to fix them and decided that they had to launch.

Unless they've changed their testing practices they won't actually change a vast majority of whats implemented regardless of if its broken or not ;) I mean they shipped a patch in 1.2 or 1.3 where collision damage instantly destroyed basically anything, it isn't like nobody told them about it either lol.

I'm not a fan of the rank/power idea. It should be based on the security level of the system where the killing occurs.

Nice one OP

2.1 is THE update from this season of content as far as I'm concerned. If they get this right it will transform the game for me. Loads of stuff in there I didn't know was part of 2.1 and I'm really looking forward to the new missions and crafting. Only 30 engineers? That seems a very low number to me and I can see those systems being very busy but I'll hold off on commenting until I play 2.1 for myself.

Yep, 2.1 is looking to be a massive update, not surprised that it's been delayed. I think I may even reset my save and start from fresh (I can have a look at that during the beta), should be fun.

Rep is where rep is due. Always love these summaries - I and suspect Michael loves them too, as he would want to know what's promised and what not about 2.1 :D

Anyway, correctly, we aren't even that close to beta and we have very little knowledge about wrecks nd looting (besides snitching ship data banks).
