Official HUD colour change ?

I've searched the forums high and low and I haven't seen any confirmation weather or not there will be some official HUD colour options, even if they have to be purchased from the store. Will these actually ever be coming? because everything is a little orange especially when the sun is shining on your dash. Yes there is the unofficial fix, but it doesn't work properly.

Every body in the whole world has posted about this since the beginning of time. Well slight exaggeration but not far off. ;) I have never heard Frontier say or even hint that this will become a thing. But it would be a nice surprise.
The orange colour burns my eyes and I always go into the config folders and tone it right down.

no doubt you'd buy even "fresh air" in a bottle.

true they can easily be edited but they DO NOT work correctly.. IE enemies don't show up as red.. other small things... unless you stick to the original colours

try every aspect you like.. but you cannot keep the red in the places needed, for example you would like a blue HUD with red up and down arrows on the outfitting screen and also for enemies to show RED on the radar.... it simply is impossible.. yet very possible if u choose orange HUD.

And who doesn't like fresh air ? :p

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I think the only thing that's been said officially in the past is that this is potentially something that maybe, perhaps, at some future point in time, could conceivably be added.

Or words to that effect. :)

Also we can't have different ones for each of our ships

Or one for the ship and other one for the SRV

You can change the colour and keep the enemies red etc.
I use this:

<MatrixRed> 0.18, 0, -1 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> -1, 1, -1 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 0.15, 0.32, 1 </MatrixBlue>

It gives an easy to read green but keeps the red of hostile contacts on the scanner.

P.S. one quirk with this is that players show up as a white square rather than a hollow one.

I don't really like the orange and would like to be able to change it or tone it down. The problem with editing the files is that it effects everything in the HUD including the colour of Friendlies/Hostiles and I don't want that so I stick with the in-game settings. I would welcome the option to be able to change the cockpit HUD within the game and have wanted this since Premium Beta. It's just a preference and is personal to everyone individually but, if not difficult to implement then why not?

In the grand scheme of things FD have other things to currently worry about.

In the end there is a way of changing the colour, be thankful we have that at all (like the debug camera).

I would love the ability to change the colour scheme of your ship's HUD with in-game options!!! I hope it is implemented soon!!!

............... Yes there is the unofficial fix, but it doesn't work properly.

The one I use which clearly differentiates targets and where all UI and menu items are really clear, is "Mocha" detailed by user Cmdr Uncertain in this post (post 269):

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...=1#post1226693

It is a very useful, non-garish colour scheme where everything on the scanner is easily recognisable (not all schemes are) whilst easing my eye-strain that v1.4 introduced in text on the HUD. The screenshots in that link will give you an idea, I totally recommend it after trying out many others.

<MatrixRed> 0.7, 0.08, -0.08 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 0, 1, 1 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 0.15, -0.15, 1 </MatrixBlue>

Back in....november? I read some company somewhere (I want to say Canada if not in the US like in California) was actually selling bottled air to people in China.

So its not that outraging :p

Personally, hell no would I pay for something I can tweak in an xml file for ages.

edit: Found it lol

Maybe it will be a feature in the next 9 years of their 10 years plan. Adding such feature is soooo difficult.

If it was trivial, it would be done already. It isn't, because the UI is not structured in a way to make a colour change. In fact frontier did dabble with it, but the UI needs several functions changed so the UI colours are decoupled so that the system & galaxy maps, station UI and a bunch of other stuff isn't also affected.

So, actually, it is a bit complicated. Because they have to partly redesign the thing everyone is very reliant on. I guess it's easy for doctors and mechanics too. I mean it's just people and cars.

It seems fresh air in a can is the future. Like this delicious "Perri-air"

If it is so difficult, how come that 3rd party website has a little tool that lets you preview your color scheme as you adjust the sliders? If a non-developer did it within a couple months of release, how come the devs can't do it?
