Money isn't everything (Anaconda's not all that)

I bought an Anaconda a few days ago, kitted it out A-spec and have been playing with it since and I've come to a conclusion: I don't like it.

It's something I love about the game, the variety. There are loads of ships that are fun but I love the FDL and the Asp. But then others love the Anaconda. It can't be all bad because people *do* seem to love it.

Getting back into my Asp was a joy though. The handling! The jump range! Not to mention no longer having a 15mill insurance payout when I lose it.

So since then I've been wondering something: Are there any ships that are universally hated or are there at least some lovers of every ship?

Never loved the Conda. It is still usefull for long range exploration and trading (until you get the cutter). I'd rather fly a Conda than a Corvette to BH as well, mainly because of the jumprange.
All in all, not the perfect ship, but still useful in some situations. As any other ship in the game, actually.

Personally I love the anaconda for its versatility, it can do more or less everything quite well. Though yes with cutter and corvette now, those two can be better at trading and combat respectively.

Everyone either loves or hates ships regardless of how useful/useless they might be (like the Orca for example)
So be it a T6, an Anaconda, a sidewinder or a vulture some love ship X others hate ship X.

Oh, and everyone hates the Keelback. People who like it are only pretending to like it

I haven't bothered grabbing a Keelback, it does seem rather pointless of a ship. If I wanted a trade ship that can fight (and is still medium) I'd grab a python or something.

edit:

I'd venture to say that the T7 is the most widely hated ship out there..

and I loved my T7 more than the T6.

Hey the Keelback is my exploration ship! Those wee flappy arms!!! :D

My main ship these days is a Diamondback Scout however, I was very VERY late to get one after it weas introduced but it's SOOOOO fun to fly!

I love other people's 'Condas.

When I've gotten myself in trouble and a wingmate turns up in a 'Conda, everything is going to work out just fine.

It would be very strange if that wasn't the case. ZenZak has the right idea, you have to spend a while with any ship to get the best out of and appreciate it. Have never understood those posts that start with 'I bought X ship and immediately sold it! I hated it!' :/

Yeah true, although quite a few do like it. I still have my original T7, managed to get myself into and out off so many scrapes flying in open back in gamma and early release, the ship taught me a lot about survival against the odds in open.

I'm working on getting one right now to do some deep space exploration. Looking to go around the galactic core, see how deep I can get without running out of fuel and being lost forever...

Well, I do love the Adder, even though I have absolutely no use for it whatsoever... :s

That cockpit is just so comphy...

Haha, mate I love it when I have to jump in an Adder or Hauler for a taxi run between my fleet. Those ships are a joy to fly.

Not very far without a scoop, indefinitely if equipped properly. I enjoy using the Asp for short range trips (Barnards/NGC 7822)

The Anaconda is ideal for long range deep space exploration to remote regions.

You prolly meant; "I hate the T7 less than I hate the T6" :D

when you spend so much time in them you love them more than you hate them.

for example the T9 is a [female dog] when it comes to maneuvering and in comparison its exhilarating flying in an anaconda.
but I gained many fond experiences flying the T9 (same with the T7)

Me too, I love hopping on them to fetch other ships... I like the Hauler, but I love the Adder... The way the light reflects all over that cockpit...

It was my first ship after the sidewinder. 4 times the fuel, over twice the space, good jump range... It was the ship that really opened the galaxy for me. The outside view is terrible but I fell in love with the cockpit immediately. Those trips hauling rares from the lave cluster were great times.

Too bad that rares don't keep scaling in profit with distance beyond ~150ly. It they did, they might still be a worthwhile occupation even with ships larger than a Cobra.

I run fuel scoop on everything at this point. Even if it's just a small one, it lets me refuel quickly. It just mainly means how deep I can go before I hit a massive patch of unscoopable stars, or starless systems.

Actually the T6 is quite a versatile ship. I would refer to it as "the poor man's Asp".

Not very good for trading as the cargo hold is too small for worthile regular trading profits.

But its jump range and number of module slots make it an formidable low budget explorer.

Also a very good miner, rares trader, and was an excellent salvager back in the day where salvaging was profitable (the current scarcity of salvaging missions pretty much killed salvaging as an occupation).
