22:00 Zulu Saturday plus 9:30
that's dawn on Easter Sunday. I'll be at the Lake House wearing the bunny ears and hippety hopping around the shoreline planting eggs that will be molten by sun up.
Couple years back I got busted and the ten year old had a crying fit.
Ten!
I told her to make as much noise as possible and especially to tell the little ones, 'cause that will win friends everywhere
.

Re: Traps.
Actually Rorschark Head is not just being a wet blanket.
SDC game plan is presumably to get many known "good" and "courageous" CMDRs to violate Terms of Service. Not because FDev will do anything, just because it turns the "good and courageous" CMDRs into hypocrites.

So as an advocate of balance and neutrality, and in the interests of discovering one's own compromised ethics - I encourage all of you to do it.
I know I would.

Drink Scotch.
Turn up in force.
Try to kill CMDR My-Dog's-Got-No-Nose!-How-Does-He-Smell?-Terrible.
Via stream sniping.
Put it up on YouTube.
Laugh about it.
Brag about it.
Join the flame war on Redditt.

But instead I'll see you all on Tuesday.

Have an awesome weekend.

This argument about people being reported for stream sniping is one of the stupidest things I have seen on this forum, and that is saying something.

Do you think that even if they did report people for stream sniping after they publicly invited people to stream snipe them FDev are daft enough to do something about it?

Obviously not.

This is just a cheap shot because some members of this community don't like any kind of PvP and particularly SDC.

I can't help thinking that if it was a PvPer baiting the PvE community in the same kind of way it would be dealt with quickly.

Had a chat with a SDC guy and asked him about this idea:
"Harry agreed that he gets stream sniped, killed in a T9. This will be the FIRST OPEN COMMUNITY GOAL. A real one - "Kill Harry!".

So he will be protected by a wing with -3- other players (probably not in T9). So it looks like every commander will be welcome in whatever ship - an Armada of Eagles, Sidewinder or Cutters(?) to have fun and chase big Harry down in his big Bertha. This sound actually like real fun to me !

It does sound a fun event. Although I was hoping for Harry to be in a hauler.

Then it would be "Hauler Harry Hopefully Hyperspaces Home"

Don't underestimate a T9. It can have serious shields and armor and those big cargo slots can carry a lot of shield banks

Its a great idea, I have met and been disposed of by CMDR Potter and his dogs before and would be happy to have another go, I can't see it happening due to instancing (i.e. I'm not getting up that early GMT on a Sunday Bank Holiday morning).

I don't think there is a need to knock SDC for this, I can see why some do due to the bad press they get (rightfully so sometimes) but its an Open event, I you don't trust their intent or just don't like them, then don't get involved in it...

Does anyone have any experience of shield banks on a T9? I would imagine that it takes a long long time for the shield to regenerate. I could imagine that the biggest problem would be getting enough wings of fighters into the correct instance.

I would take my hat off to any team that manages to complete the task.

And my hat is doffed to the SDC for setting the event. They really are trying to persuade people to play in open, and it's events like this that are the most persuasive. I might just collect all my bounties, cash in my map data, jump in a cheap Cobra and join the fun in the surrounding instances. It's nice to be reminded that a little bit of death once in a while doesn't hurt that much.

Greetings everyone, next weekend on 02/04/2016 the Smiling Dog Crew will be running an event in Open Play(Live streamed on Twitch).

All players are welcome to come join, though as with other Smiling Dog Crew events PVP is the main theme. Players are invited to come try and kill the one and only CMDR Harry Potter, Potter will be flying a Type-9 from WolfBerg all the way to SOL, Any CMDR or CMDRs who manage to kill Harry Potter will be offered a prize of 5 million Cr(Depending on the turn out for this event the prize will be changed in future events).

Here is a poster created by CMDR Nitek for this event, thanks to him for this.

the one, the only??!!! . Don't make me laugh that's if he doesn't combat log, like I've seen in the past !!

I can't help thinking that if it was a PvPer baiting the PvE community in the same kind of way it would be dealt with quickly.

And after this event is held and we do exactly what we say we are going to do, as we always have in the past, I'll expect no apologies from any of you nasty people who can't help but trash talk people you don't even know, although a certain moderator should consider making accusations against player groups and being outright nasty, I would be banned for baiting if I did the same.
Know this, no matter whether you like us or hate us we aren't going away we're getting bigger and we'll be doing more events in the future with substantial prizes more focused on helping the actual in game community, while doing charity streams is noble, (we have donated substantially to every event we have "attended", including our own) we feel there is a lack of events that actually provide some exciting player driven content that provide opportunity for players to be paid substantially for "putting it on the line", this will hopefully give people a taste of real PvP action and show the community that Elite: Dangerous is the best combat simulator ever made and that, love us or hate us we make the game a much more interesting (if not enjoyed by all) experience.

Our motives aren't hidden, alot of people are going to die trying to kill him or defend him. At the end of it someone is going to get a fat payout and bragging rights of killing Harry whilst under the protection of some of the most highly skilled combat pilots in the galaxy, have the proof that it happened and the credits to put some seriously sweet icing on the cake. We can't really at this point do better than that.
Unfortunately CMDR's in solo or private groups will be unable to participate, the discriminatory nature of these modes of play is something SDC finds offensive and if you aren't in open play, you aren't allowed to participate in the event. No exceptions or discussion will be entered into with those who play in solo or group mode, you must log into open play to take part in this and all future SDC events

So you say, but since FD will never publicise the reported or the reportee, that's an empty promise. Caveat emptor as always. ;)

Personally, being reported for something wouldn't worry me at all anyway. I mean why would it?

Being punished for something might bother me but since Zac's oft-quoted announcement said

"running a livestream in Open does invite the potential for players to approach and impact your gameplay and running a livestream in which you are declaring war on another group and they come and take action against you is reasonable and should be expected."

and in this case players are being openly invited to attack, with that being the entire purpose of the event, it would need an interpretation of Frontier's (admittedly imprecise) rules that was beyond creative for anybody to end up with a ban.

Twitch's rules are a separate issue obviously but unless I signed up for twitch in a drunken stupor and have since forgotten about it (which I'll admit is possible) you can watch streams without even needing to be logged in. If someone wants to have a record of their attempt at a bit of avada kedavra and really doesn't trust the fact they won't get reported to twitch, just use Fraps or similar and stick it on youtube.

All I'm seeing here is pvp group attempting to get some pvp and have a laugh by inviting other pvp players to come and try to kill them. Can't really see anything wrong with that, should be fun.

The only reason I've commented on this at all by the way is that I wasn't shy with my opinions about last week's 'event' and I've never been one of those people who only speaks when he has something bad to say.

Harry is trying to pull a Trojan Horse on us, sounds like a trap and it smells like a trap, must be a trap. The question is how many puppies with rabies are going to be near by? Either way I like it. Let the hunt begins

Is this a promise that the Mobius private group(s) will be no longer be invaded in the future? Such an assurance would be applauded by many I would think. Well done :)

There will be Harrys T9 and -3- other players trying defending him. Not sure how many losses he can take, guess he has put some money a side for funny times - that's it.
