Neutralising the Unknown Artefact Threat CG guide

Very interesting reward.. what's the benefit in being able to carry a UA. Making another high-value rare available? A "collect UA" CG? Or maybe an exotic drive system that requires them? :)

Me thinks freaky alien stuff will happen a little bit further away for which we need to bring 'corrosion' stuff.

Oh great another tedious meta alloys CG.
More inane jumping from instance to get these to drop...

I understand where you're coming from but I'm not really sure how we can respond to your feelings, and what we can say, to really help.

I hope they add more variety in the future but right now it isn't here. Frontier are very aware of it, though, so for now either join in or don't I guess

The least they could do would be to make sure the MA-dropping barny would be 'unique' to each player, so we could actually harvest one. There are about 30 known barny spots, which means that if we play 'by the book' in Open we wont be able to get to tier-1 at all. The only way this CG can actually work is by instance-switching, hitting solo etc. Its silly.

I see your point but I'm doing private anyways. I don't want some viper griefing my cutter while I'm off shooting some barny

I posted this info in the "Active Community Goals Thread #5"
& I am posting it here in the hopes that it helps out.

I made a YouTube video (Collecting Meta-Alloys on PLEIADES SECTOR JC-U B3-2 2 planet for the Meta-Alloy CG) from the time I did the last Met-Alloy CG at Obsidian Orbital back in January 2016:

I also was using the info that CMDR MYTHRE provided in his thread "*Meta-Alloy Locations Thread Database* [Alloys only]"
...hopefully the above info helps out

ha, just delivered some MAs. I always sell one first in a CG, to check if the thing works. Selling ONE ton got me in the top fifty percent. :) Really curious as to how much the bottom 50% contributed so far. ;)

At the moment it looks like tier 1 is 20000 tonnes.

A stupidly high number, especially considering the ridiculously low price at Obsidian.

Dumping my 128 tonnes at Obsidian instead of anywhere else nets me a loss of nearly 2 million credits.

Bad design choices, anyone?

I think the choice is whether we want to suffer now or later. At some point dragging stuff 1t at a time somewhere might be even worse..

5 easy to find barnacle sites are at Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2 2:
They are in the biggest crater of the biggest crater on the planet, see pic below

Cool place i will have to go have a look- as the co-ordinates are a paint to find... but visual craters- NP :p

I have visited this spot and i can confirm that the 2 near each other are great!
pics:

Spot 1
Spot 2

Coordinates for barnacles are :
Spot 1
49.5424
102.1539
