Significance of EDDS (especially in relation to STEAM and 2.0.7)

hello,
is somebody out there, who can tell in which way the
Display Switcher deals with VR/non-VR display.

(maybe Smack332, supposed to be the author of this
great tool, can answer)

i realised, its still installed on my system, and its respondible
wether if i can play in VR or with normal display.
it stays in a way above the Steam-VR.

now i am aware of this, after some irritations, so to speak;),
the tool still makes a good job.

the question(s):
with the upcoming changes (at the latest on 28/03);

- is EDDS obsolete?
- is Steam obsolete
(more accurate, is the installation of ED in Steam obsolete ?)

thanks

ED has no differences other than program paths and directories no matter how it was installed.

It runs the same executable,
It access the same data.

About the only difference you see is that if launched through Steam (and likely the Oculus Store) both have their own program launcher that in turn launch the Elite Dangerous launcher.

From the time the Elite Dangerous launcher (e.g. login) screen comes on, it's all the same.

your right, but the differences are in handling the VR-thing (clearly you cant play with VR and
win10 without Steam, at least til 28/03, hopefully)
