they changed ''hold thrust for takeoff'' to ''Press Z to take off''
did I miss something? Mine is still spam vertical thrust to lift off.

SRV is annoying, turn off drive assist for less "drunken elephant on ice" behavior.
Approach the ship head on from the front, drive slow and in short spurts if necessary. Pick a safe flat spot for practice.
For fun try to board the ship while both the ship and the buggy are being shot at. If you can do that without having anything blow up (including your skull), you are golden.
Are you sure? maybe I am missing an option... oh I need to look in the settings more... or maybe there an XML to changedid I miss something? Mine is still spam vertical thrust to lift off.
Backer. Back in game. Tried planetary. For heaven's sake FD, why do you have to make everything so opaque? Had a little run around, but getting that buggy back under the quickly purchased Cobra I risked for this escapade, and getting it back on board. Horrible. Terrible.
Stop being so damned clever and think about the gameplay, never mind any sense of reality.
Did someone there not go to university - and is trying to compensate? Genuinely smart people keep things simple.
(flame away inevitable fanboys saying 'it is easy', press button X etc.)
Huh.
You can be pointed any direction when the "board ship" light comes on.
ZAP!
I consider that its allready an insult to realism that they changed ''hold thrust for takeoff'' to ''Press Z to take off''

Well I used to see the term ''Hold thrust to take off''Hum? I still hold thrust to take off?

but sins a few updates ago it was changed to ''hold Z to take off''

I don't honestly know how it could be simpler or easier, no salt or flame, you drive into the light (just like docking in your ship in a station, that's your first clue), the little light in the bottom right of your screen lights up when you can board ship (it's like having your landing gear down, that's your second clue), then you choose board ship from the SRV-ship interface (you know that interface that links actions from your ship to your SRV and SRV to ship, that's your third clue).Backer. Really bugs me how they changed it after Beta, obviously they were getting spammed on the support inbox from people not knowing how to launch the ship.
The text on Horizons release changed to 'HOLD (R) OR (JOY 3) TO LAUNCH
Keyboard and joystick assignments will obviously vary according to your setup. In Beta it simply read, HOLD VERTICAL THRUST TO LAUNCH
The "board ship" light doesn't come on unless you approach from a specific angle that isn't marked in any way. I spent half an hour trying to get back on my T-6 until I realized that I had to come from the other direction and drive around a freaking center-aligned landing gear that was blocking my way in order to actually board.
I believe they are all highly educated in FD. You know Cambridge and all, not that its by default gives you a PhD.
However I like it as it is, much easier with a HOTAS and pedals. Go to a high gravity planet and practices a bit.
Fair enough. But learning curves should not be vertical.
Sometimes I feel that users who hate the game are the target audianceReally bugs me how they changed it after Beta, obviously they were getting spammed on the support inbox from people not knowing how to launch the ship.
