Luckys tale questions

Apparently I need a gamepad to play luckys tale with the DK2. Will an xbox 360 one do (in which case I have one in a drawer and just need an adapter), or do I need to invest in an XB1 controller?

Is it worth it?

Just tried with Wireless 360 controller and no problems other than the start screen of the game that says press A and nothing happens : Use the mouse in the mirror window.

The 360 should work great with it. It's a fun game too! I'm still trying to get my head around Farlands - really enjoying it so far, but no clue what I'm meant to be doing. The little fishing robot is great fun.

Farlands look kinda nice, but I can't get on with the idea of not being able to move besides teleporting awkwardly. Seems like devs went too far in an attempt to reduce motion sickness.

As a married man I can honestly say... Dont get it! My wife wont get off the bloody pc and I am falling behind in my barnacle farming! :p

Seriously it is very well put together and the textures and overall vibe are very impressive.

Thanks everyone. I've ordered a windows adapter for a 360 controller. Am looking forward to finding out what all the fuss is about in a few days.

How come this is already available to download for free and yet my CV1 is not due till the end of April. Not complaining just surprised I saw this on the Oculus Store as available to download free for me.

Guess there are always people that will start ordering or purchasing the CV1 from today and as such dont get it for free and want to buy games.

I was surprised that Lucky's Tale was free for everyone to download- my expectation for both free titles was a redeemable key in the CV1 box, which I'm assuming will be the case for Eve Valkerie or we'd all have that too now!

So, until my CV1 arrives I'm really enjoying Lucky's Tale on the DK2, because despite the cutesy factor it is pretty addictive with that "one more try" pull. I was up 'til late playing it last night, when I didn't expect that it would hold my attention ( though I had heard it was designed with VR in mind and it shows).

Wonder why Eve costs 60$. Last chance to milk these very few people who got DK2 and have no plans for CV1 upgrade?

That's what I'm wondering as everyone with the CV1 should be getting it for nothing. Maybe the plan is for the Oculus Store to work with other Oculus products down the line, such as steaming from PC to GearVR and that's a way for them to shift more copies? But it is odd to have this available to buy on day 1.
