Why no love for the orca?

Actually it should probably be Arissa.
Aisling's mob are kinda uh, it's not that they're disorganised.
Just they're uh not very unified.

That's the understatement of the year. I think we even shouldn't use the word "mob" as it's too organized.
(And I am saying this as an Aisling-ling, not out of hate. :))

Or maybe because FD didn't think that releasing a passengers ship in a game where there are no passengers could be a problem...

It is a good ship to be carrying NPCs for Missions however.

There will always be a least popular ship, even when Passenger missions are introduced, Passenger ships might still be the bottom of popularity

You think Passengers will be Cobra Mk.IV of the missions? [wacky]

I bought an Orca and have it sitting in a hanger somewhere. I even bought the Vibrant paint pack for it.

It's a bright purple limo waiting to run loads of drunk girls around for bachelorette parties!

Being a limo driver can be good sometimes. :D

I'm saving your number and give you a call when I have a beer and chicks and need a lift. In style. :D

It's because the Class 5 and 6 modules cannot have anything equipped in them, and it was good for Silent Running ramming but the heat changes made it redundant.

It's only purpose I can foresee is when we can land on waterworlds, that the Orca can actually go underwater.

Quadruple? Well, then I'm out of the count - I'm not touching that garbage what people call CQC with an Orca-length pole.

For the honour of carrying your PowerPlay leader.
To have that avatar walk onto the bridge of your Orca.

I think you should have to demonstrate total mastery of all modes of Elite.

I hope someone from FDev notice this idea.

example scenario: Fatty Mahon goes on a head of state visit to LeRoy Rui's place to work out a deal among the independents similar to how the Feds and Empire work. Feds don't like it, but its up to actual CMDRs to deliver safely or secretly etc.

Orca would be a cool ship for a head of state.

Hidy ho all,

I came across another thread, which mentioned the Orca. Now, I'm still learning what ships are what, and how they stack up to other ships. But the wiki article mentioned the orca was the least popular ship in the game.

I took a quick look over the stats, and didn't see any obvious short falls.

So my question is, why is there no love for the Orca?

Because it is very expensive for what it is. An ORCA is 45 Million credits. I can have an Imperial Clipper for half that price and it will be just as fast, better for Combat, and able to carry more Cargo.
The only motivation to buy an Orca would be if they introduced special passenger missions that can only be done with an Orca or if you are a collector of ships like me.

I can imagine a head of state traveling in a capital ship or if they have to resort to ships that players can fly then Anacondas, Corvettes, and Cutters. Why settle for anything less?

I have an Orca. It's the only large-pad ship I run.

I love it - sleek, black, fast, with a lovely little touch from the devs - it plays a sound very similar to the "fasten seatbelts" sound on passenger planes when you boost (and boost it does - it's the third fastest ship in the game.)

I use it for powerplay piracy and mining.
