To the far rim in a Sidey

Not only is this a fantastic result by Frawd, it's a magnificent example of emergent co-operation by many Commanders to get one person to a specific (damn hard) goal! It's incredibly rare to see something like this in an MMO these days unfortunately. My hat comes off to each and every one of you that helped out there, but mostly to Frawd for having the balls to even attempt it [up]

Note to self : Must buy a hat ;)

Congrats and Kudos Frawd on finally arriving at BP! o7

Thanks Cmdr...couldn't have done it without you Rock Rats!

Congratulations Frawd - an endeavor of epic proportions!
You Sir, deserve a lifetime supply of free Lavian Brandy, and that Sidewinder of yours deserves pride of place in the Tionisla Orbital museum.
o7.

Thanks Cmdr...couldn't have done it without you!

I remember a post by yourself in one of the community threads in Exploration back in, what October or November? (it seems like a lot longer than that), where you were thinking of running a trip to BP, and were hoping a few Cmdrs might be interested...little did you realise then... ;)

And as for putting the sidey in a museum...I think there should be a BP museum. That way I can leave the old "Grass Hopper II" here and hitch a ride back in an Orca, or something a little more plush that a sidewinder...

Thanks for all your hard work Cmdr o7

Looking forward to Saturday

Just guided him there. That was epic, Frawd!!
Thanks to all the Rock-Rats who helped stock him up with materials!

And thanks to you Cmdr...couldn't have done it with you and Baroness Galaxy, my principal Rock Rats!

And thanks for leading the charge into BP...even if I did screw up the final jump. I was a little nervous... :)

It looked pretty cool from my perspective though (I will post the video later).

Fantastic!!!. Bien hecho, comandante Frawd. Congratulations!.

Thanks Cmdr...Google Translate tells me you just said "Well done Commander Frawd" in Spanish ;)

Frawd

"Oh boy...that was awesome...finally made it to BP, after 125 days out of the bubble...in a freakin' sidewinder!"
That is so epic, Commander. Many, many congratulations.
You have created quite a reputation here - what will we all do when we don't have your log to read ...

Thanks Cmdr...and don't worry I have to get back to the bubble yet so you probably have many more months of my log to deal with (did I hear a collective groan?).

And when I'm done with that I'll be sure to start a log on what I have for breakfast every morning (with pictures and maybe video too)... :)

I seem to have a problem now. ED crashed to desktop when I when I was trying to land and now I can't log in Kamzel without crashing. Solo and Open seem fine.
Glad you have arrived safely and sorry I left early (beyond my control though). Hopefully it's a network glitch which will clear.

Thanks for coming along for the last jump Cmdr...

I did wonder who popped out of existence when we were on the ground at Darwin's Legacy...strange you should have a glitch like that, since I suspect you're a lot closer to the FD servers than I am.

Hope to see you again soon (this weekend?).

Yay, you've made it! Congratulations, and see you around at BP! Have you managed to land without taking damage?
He did.... very, very gingerly but down with no damage taken

Thanks Cmdr...yes I did. Thankfully I didn't make a mess of it as I had a pretty big audience. I'd already screwed up twice in the evening and didn't want to make it a third :)

Frawd

Holy cow, The Little Sidewinder that could!
Congratulations, CMDR :)

Seriously, what an amazing journey. Have some more well-deserved congratulations, CMDR! o7
Hot dayyyum. He did it!
Here's to the bravest of them all - the Sidewinder Frawd Digger! [up]
Wow... made it!
Well done CMDR.

Thanks Cmdrs...and not brave, just crazy. And my craziness becomes more obvious when I set down next to Asps and 'Condas, and I think holy **** the sidey really is tiny!!

Frawd

Well done Frawd! Great achievement Sir!!
Now all you have to do is get back in one piece :)
Congrats and best wishes,
Cmdr A

Thanks Cmdr...and don't remind me that I have to go all the way back! Can't we get a space station built out here so I can sell all my data and just float in the void for a while?

Great stuff, I'm regretting not going going on the trip.
Congrats to Frawd again.

Thanks Cmdr...it's a pity you didn't come. But on the bright side there are some Cmdrs who have bucky-balled to BP in less than 48 hours so you still have time!! Get ready...GO!!! ;)

It was an absolute pleasure to be able to join Frawd Digger as he jumped into Beagle Point before landing at Darwin's Legacy.

[IMGUR]jaSbt[/IMGUR]

And thanks for your help and inspiration Cmdr...convincing me to try for BP when I was burnt out. I had given up due to the "mat-running-away" bug and couldn't imagine collecting enough mats to get to BP (as it turns out it is pretty easy to avoid the bug).

And thanks for your poem Cmdr. You are the Poet Laureate of ED. I really appreciated you reading it again just before we jumped...and while Eisen was not recording at the time, I'm pretty sure I was. Would you mind if I post the video to this thread?

Frawd

Absolutely beautiful! Well done Frawd and what a fantastic effort from all the helpers. That video is fantastic. I love the spinning SRV as Frawd comes into land. Epic journey and the best "emergent" gameplay I have seen. Puts all that stuff going on back in the bubble to shame.
I would love to have been there. I set out for Beagle Point nearly two months ago and rather hoped to arrive at the same time as Frawd but sadly I took the long route and after 70,000 LY, I still have 39,000 to go :(
Enjoy the party guys and gals!

I agree Cmdr...the best part of this game is the community. It really feels like an epic journey with comrades along-side.

And yes the mating SRVs were quite funny!

Frawd

That goes beyond awesome, or even epic!
A truly LEGENDARY achievement that should remembered always!

Thanks Cmdr

Time to have a well deserved "Chill" for a bit...

AWESOME Work on Everyone's part!

Thanks Cmdr, yes I plan on having a little rest before Saturday (which I believe starts 2AM Perth time)...I will probably log on tonight to take some proper "I made it" pics and to park my ship in orbit over Darwin's Legacy.

Frawd

Congrats Frawd, and well done! I'm proud I made it in an Asp but you sir take the golden trophy and then some! FDev should make a unique Sidewinder skin just for you, LOL!!!!

Hmmm....while I doubt that will happen, it would be pretty cool!

And congrats on making it yourself yesterday Cmdr.

Of all the posts to be told I can't rep you on...
That is a stunning achievement. You, sir, are a <redacted> legend!
Right on, Commander.

Thanks Cmdrs

Hope to meet you soon am 3.7kly out should arrive tomorrow or Thursday.

Oooh, glad I'm not a snowflake ;)

I would have melted long ago if I was, the number of times I have fallen into suns scooping-while-tired...

Thanks Cmdr

Thanks Cmdr...agreed, this was a joint effort (and ED is certainly good at bringing people together from across the globe)! There are lots of awesome selfless Cmdrs out there willing to put a lot of their time to help...I think I have mentioned some of them in previous posts.

Congratulations, Frawd!

Thanks Cmdr...your name reminds me of Cmdr Eisen's dulcet tones singing the Polonium Song...which may or may not work in helping to find polonium (but he sings it anyway) ;)

Seems I forgot to add my written congratulations to Frawd for completing the journey to Beagle Point after my actual words on the arrival :)

So Frawd:

You are a complete raving loon, and should be locked up for your own good.

I took a look inside your cockpit when you were on the ground; there are ...things... *moving* in there. It's obvious to me now: the invasion will start when you return to the bubble and open the airlock door; humanity is doomed from that moment.

Look: I was slightly aghast when I met up with you all those weeks and thousands upon thousands of light years ago; now I'm just more than a little awestruck at the actual real life effort you've put into this endeavour. Many words have been used: epic, amazing, awe-inspiring, magnificent; the list goes on.

Me? I'd like to say it was a genuinely emotional moment when we jumped into the Beagle Point system with you, and I'd like to extend my personal thanks for allowing me to be a part of it.

I'd like to hope that I can be there when you return and dock. I'd be honoured to form an escort to get you to your destination of choice when that time comes.
