A Declaration of War

To the Executive in charge of the C&S Mining Corp
You are hear by notified that Bran Tse Mallory of the Frey System
Declares War upon your corporation
Frey should be a free system
Free of the laws imposed on systems inhabited by the Human Race
-
There is no habitable world within Frey therefore no standing population to be governed
-
Hence we do not need your laws
Or sense of justice for miners above all others
-
Let Frey be Free!
-
Friends, Countrymen, Commanders!

Lend me your ears.
I offer you a chance
For everyone to come together
In a common cause
A call to arms in defense of your freedom
To mine, trade, pirate and bounty hunt
Without harassment from a Corporation.
Equality for all pilots!
-

Freedom to fly how you want!
Freedom from Oppression!
Freedom For Frey!

Welcome CMDR's to Bran's war,

After starting life with the Pilots Federation I moved to the Frey system and have used it as a base of operation since the middle of June last year.

Not long after the nearby system of Bhotho was taken over by the Federation and Frey was gifted to the C&S Mining Corp - a player based faction started by an Xbox player.

Now I had been happy with the way things had been, the Free Frey faction that I was helping were making headway and expanding into other systems despite not being the controlling faction in Frey itself.

Then along comes the Corporation and takes direct control of the main station and imposes it's flavour of law on pilots in the system.

My war is for Frey to become a free place for all to do as they please!

End RP.

Now the interesting thing about this little bit of emergent game play is that the opposing faction are Xbox players - nothing wrong with that - while I play on the PC so the chances of PvP are limited.

This is a war of the BGS spread over the two systems, already some players form the Xbox have jumped on-board for both the freedom movement and also for the Corporation too.

If you want to get involved or suggest the best ways to bring down the Corporation, or even Free Frey, then please post how you'd go about it here.

As always I would appreciate it if you keep this nice and fun.

This is not about Xbox v PC, this is about Freedom v Oppression!

P.S. As I'm rather busy today I'll check in when I can but you may have to wait for any response.

Thank-you for the information I will study the ways of best removing this scourge from our midst!

And Beck's no need to worry I fear this may be a long drawn out campaign, it started as just one man against the might of an all powerful, all controlling corporation. Now others have joined the call for Freedom! More will follow I'm certain (As a mad man can be!).

Part of me wishes I was beyond the core also but I feel my cause is just, Sag A and beyond will still be there once I am victorious because defeat is not an option!

Hmm... one man player faction gets a free system governance...
Should have started my own player run faction....

It would certainly be a good thing to do. I have nothing against the player who runs the faction, in fact I applaud him for doing so. I just fancied some emergent game play in my own back yard and so came up with a crazy reason for doing so. :D

I don't find myself creative and active enough currently to even think of starting something like that.
It is good to know however, that it is a genuine mining corp that you fight.
Keep up the good fight;)
In case you want to mark "some routes for surveillance and freight checks" I'm up for helping out,
you never know what kinds of illegal stuff is hidden between the raw ores and refined metals reflecting scanners.

Don't go declaring war against the open PC crowd, they don't like it when you affect their BGS and they cant attack you directly.

Good luck playing the BGS. It can be quite frustrating, but satisfying when the outposts and stations start falling to your faction.

Any information on their movements is welcome. I'll be looking in the local systems for where they are trying to spread their vile ways and report back what I find.

im down for this! C&S is going down!

the hired gun in me is shouting like a lil kid.

That's the spirit Conch!

You had me at X-box vs PC....whadda I need to do?

Wait... Xbox vs PC? If this doesn't unite the players nothing will!

Just to clarify, this is not PC v Xbox in anyway.

The minor faction just happens to be run by an Xbox player. I am calling on all pilots regardless of the system you play on to fight for the Freedom of Frey - to remove a corporation from power where they have no right to rule as I see it.

The last thing I want is PC v Xbox wars - I want the opposite, I'd like to see co-ordination between both sides to effect the BGS in some way. I know how mad this may seem but I can but try, in the name of Freedom! (And fun of course).

There is one big problem:
There is no identifier for minor faction allegiance on players,
no denominator no hint if he is pro or con.
Something that has to be ruled out by FD pronto.

Their Inara page is one player; that doesn't necessarily mean that there is only one player. Communism Interstellar doesn't have an Inara profile, for example. That doesn't mean we don't exist.

I'll be swinging through quite close to Frey in about an hour or so on my way somewhere else - I'll make sure my route takes me through the system so I can see what's what.

Have you contacted the CMDR in question? You might find that talking to them adds a little depth of understanding and that you can come to something much more amicable than a bunch of people they've probably never heard of hammering their faction down - if they're an Xbox player, you'll have never met them, and they likewise would have had no idea about you and your attachment to the system. Talking is underrated in a universe filled with pew-pew merchants.

So to the serious stuff. A baseline to start the war.

C&S Mining Corp = 75.1%
Frey Free = 4.5%
PA Para Partners = 4.3%
Frey Crimson Power Corp. = 3.6%
Allied Frey Conservatives = 3.6%
Albukunin Silver Fortune Ind. = 3.5%
Constitution Party of Frey = 3.3%
Korazotz Galactic Inc. = 2.1%

Everything appears quiet right now. This will likely be changing very quickly.

<edit> Wise words, the100thmonkey. Maybe some diplomacy is in order before going hammers and knives. </edit>

Traffic report says 366 ships through the system in the last 24 hours. Deadsville it ain't.

75.1% is over the expansion threshold. However, expansion is not a pending state; nor is it a recovering one, which is either odd or means it's the first time the faction has been there recently. I would hope that the next tick queues an expansion, provided C&S Mining Corp. doesn't get hammered in the interim.

Anyway, yeah. Talk to the guy. I'm sure he's a really nice bloke.
