General / Off-Topic It's good night from him :(

With the sad news of the remaining Ron passing... Is there a star system with 4 luminous bodies in that can be made to host "Corbett station"?

A very funny man that I got to meet once at the Royal Albert Hall when he presented the Apricot F1 computer. I remember him asking us what on Earth we would do with 10 Mb of space in a PC!

sad to hear Corbett passed on but is there a need to naming Stations/stars after Ronnie Corbett, I can understand people that added something to science fiction but standard TV celebs is going a little far.

Not wishing to be a party-pooper, but I agree with Mobius on this. RC (and RB) was a fondly remembered identity from my youth and I'm saddened to hear of his passing. However although I supported naming a station after Leonard Nimoy, Terry Pratchett & Lemmy, I can't really see that there is a sufficiently strong SF connection in this case. Then again, maybe comedians are the best people to remember :)

Correct me if my Maths is a bit out, but aren't there like 400 billion stars in our systems? If so, that's enough for everyone on this here planet with some to spare?

Every time I see a small star alongside a giant one; I will always have to think of these two greats of the British psyche.

Any time I see the filter telling me: Language Timothy; I'll think of him: Sorry?

Before the inevitable move to OT, complete the following sentence about the dread pirate Maggie Milksnatcher :
"Her heart's in the right place..."

Yup - along with Morecambe and Wise the two Ronnies were always on telly in our house.

To be honest when he did his sitting in the chair rambling on thing back then it used to wind me up - I was too impatient to appreciate it. I got it later though.

Apart from being a naturally very funny bloke he just seemed like he'd be a great guy to have a beer or play golf with.

It is indeed very sad to hear of Ronnie Corbett's passing.

Then I think of lines he came out with like "Have you tried Blackberry? On Orange?" and smiled.
Best memorial there is for a comedian.

Although as he once pointed out in a different context he was the author of a bestseller called 'How to Make a Little Go a Long Way' so you can see why he might have thought that :)
