No solution? No fun

Why play in Open? Seriously. Why?

NPCs are still a nuisance in Solo/PGs, but not difficult to deal with. The space commerce sim is there if you want it. Just Not. In. Open.

I've never been killed once when trading.

never, playing since release, in open.

people just need to understand that when you are a trader and are being interdicted by another player, you don't have to fight to win, just escape alive and you've win.

The problem is exactly that. When you finally learn the mechanics, comes a new update and break it. And worst, the game becomes evermore less fun.

The forum usually shakes out the new mechanics pretty quickly. When interdiction exploded after 1.4 release, there were many many ragequit threads. Only took a day or two for people to pass around the submit-boost-boost-high-wake escape. I doubt any future game mechanics change will be a mystery for too long.

Not really a mystery, but still sometimes it makes the game less and less fun and a correction never comes quickly.

This.

Or better. Get a wing-mate, and kick the pirate's ***

That's what release notes are for... Usually by the time I've finished downloading an update I've a pretty good idea how my overall strategy will have to change because I can read and analyze those faster than the intertubes will feed my machine with the new version :)

I wish these people who constantly get interdicted and attacked by players would share their secrets.... No fun going out and looking for a fight and coming up empty handed, for an entire week. [zZzZz]

I play fully in Open.I generally fly in conditions polar-opposite of sober. I've been killed by players about +-5 times in about 1000 hours. As for NPC: they are incredibly easy to deal with. Complaining about that is like complaining ED isn't Spacetruck Simulator 2016. Arguably true, but hardly criticism of any kind. As for SC: no idea where you get your info from but you might want to find a better source. Or just try it yourself with the regular 'free to play' weekends.

Fun comes later on in the 10 year plan.

Constructive? No. Based on arguments? No. Ah well, thats what the ignore list is for. :)

OK. So, why play in Open? What does Open offer that Mobius does not?

OK. Get a T6/7/9. Or a sidey. Plenty of players will want to "fight" you.

Ok, I know this is meant to be open for different play styles, but I've tried and it simply isn't worth it. Unless someone has some good advice on how to avoid being interdicted over and over and over and o... well, you get the idea, I'm uninstalling and waiting for Star Citizen. I'm good with some degree of danger, but I have been interdicted nearly every flight regardless of destination. I've been obliterated by Players more times than I care to count, and for what? I just wanted to have a fun space commerce sim. I'm ok with the pirate thing, but there is little risk to them. This seems to be simply a target-rich environment with minimal cost.

....

<sigh>

Jee wiz - you've been complaining about this for a month now - you must be doing something really Bad

Not sure if the interdictions are real players or NPC. If NPC I have found that aligning to a power and travelling in their space helps appears to reduce interdictions. I also try and stick in a system and become friendly with the main minor faction and again that seems to improve things. Also when flying pay attention to ships on your radar, if you keep them in front of you that appears also to reduce interdictions.

This is a good point. I am almost Elite in combat and kill each and every NPC that requests interdiction attention...but still, unless 2.1 makes a hair pin turn on things they are taking a great combat sim with super micro graphics and crapping all over it with these hair brained new additions related mission bugs, lack of non criminal based mission and paltry payoffs for non crime actions, crime ridden activities related to cargo , friendly fire, and player based super nurfs on and on.

non predictable player encounters and/or the possibility to outsmart piratss . i switch from open to moebius or another pve group if things get to silly around a cg, and i switch to solo if i just want to droodle around after a hard days work (or internet connection in my district isn't doing well that evening).

@OP if it is about npc ... as said above: don't take missions, and you'll be interdicted very rarely. i take missions on my trading runs, to get interdicted :)
