Powerplay Cycle 44 CC Changes

Hi all,

After the cycle tick earlier today, my fellow Winters pilots and I realized that some systems CC has been changed. Any system that was a control system, exploited system, a system that was in expansion last cycle, or a system that was prepared into expansion for this cycle's CC was not changed. Some systems though that do not fall under these categories were changed.

For example (I do not have the exact values from last cycle):

- Eir went from a potential profit of 68CC/cycle to a potential profit of 26CC/cycle
- Chukchan went from a potential profit of ~90CC/cycle to a potential profit of 27CC/cycle
- HIP 50489 went from a potential profit of ~66CC/cycle to a potential profit of 36CC/cycle

Has this happened to any of the other power potential prep targets? Find it strange that all of a sudden we see such a huge amount of population disappear.

It happened to the 'Jaara' system also. Down about 20CC from what it was listing last cycle. There are no new or pending expansions in the area.

Yes, sir, it most certainly has. Several weeks ago, Vaipuna was reading 60cc potential profit. Last night it was reading 55cc potential profit. Today it was reading 60cc again.

I've seen this happen before a couple of times, and have never found a solid explanation for it.

This will happen when systems which were potentially exploited by the system are in expansion phase or exploited, but it also happens when there are no active expansions or contesting systems around.

This happens all the time in our area of space. Remember when we started talking about how the Galaxy Map lies and people laughed at us for declaring war on Universal Cartographics? The problem you're seeing now is one of the reasons we decided to declare war. As you'll no doubt have noticed on your own, since the radius income has changed for those systems, so has the expansion costs.

Have a look at Sothis for example. Notice that even though Sothis would get CC from both Sothis and Ceos, it is listed as a radius income of 0? That's what's happening in the areas you're looking at. Sometimes the galaxy map realises that a system will be exploited, sometimes it doesn't.

Which brings me to another point - remember how we keep running into problems, where successful preparations fail to become expansions? Take a wild guess as to why that is.

If I've learned anything from today's live stream, it's that Frontier isn't going to give us a PowerPlay community manager. Up next - advocating for a dedicated PowerPlay QA member.

It would be nice to get a dedicated PP QA member. It is weird how it has been over two months since the Frontier QA team said these exact works on the Winters subreddit

"We're looking into this following a contact from /u/dciskey and I've personally written up a bug investigation, including the earlier info presented for Tujil. One of our server team will take a look over the coming days.

The feedback is appreciated, folks!

What happened to those coming days I wonder?

Actually they fixed the issue that was in question at that time; which was that systems that were "contested" by multiple systems of the same power wouldn't give income to a second system if their first control system was lost. This was part of the Horizons systems CC fix. Today's issue (preps not giving the same income as previous weeks) seems to be new and probably related to today's patch. Maybe it's happened to the Alliance before but we've been prepping the same systems for several cycles and not noticed any discrepancies from week to week until today. The lies told by the game are a separate issue, unless this loss of income is also just a lie and not part of the underlying data.

The expansion costs for systems were still incorrect last cycle. Winters should of had three expansions, but did not get all three due to us apparently not having enough CC.

The loss of income is a lie. We've not relied on the galaxy map or even the PowerPlay menu for income or expansion costs for ages for that particular reason.

All that's really happened is that the data issues with the galaxy map that we've seen has started propagating to other areas of space.
