6,641 unique systems, 6694 Jumps and 193,446 light years later ... I'm on the ground at Beagle Point :).

Had a fantastically daft welcome from EfilOne and others, and we all got to cheer the arrival of CMDR May a little later, including a (Safely away from base camp) Railgun fireworks display in celebration!

(There should be video posted soon)

Under the spoiler are an approach shot, the obligatory 65k club image, my srv at risk of being the filling in an Asp sandwich, and a picture of a courier with a horrendous case of ship lice ...

Stunning Move by FD - Jaques Station @ BP

In a stunning move (pun intended) and in appreciation of the many accomplishments of the Distant Worlds Expedition, FD has covertly in this weeks patch moved Jaques station from it's current long time position in Gliese 1269 to Darwin's Legacy at Beagle Point. Exhausted and fatigued Distant Worlds Explorers arriving at Beagle Point will now be able to replenish themselves and their explorer-worn ships in Jaques Station to ensure a safe journey home.

And it does not stop here, as a pre-test of Engineers, FS has decided to extend the Outfitting in Jaques Station with the long awaited Super-FSD, tested by Senator Kahina in her Formidine Rift travels, a normal FSD with an added 25% jump range. The Super-FSD has one additional property, that when loaded with 5 J3 potions, it has the capacity to make 1 galaxy unlimited hyperspace jump.

The offer for upgrading the FSD is valid during the Beagle Point festivities, and valid for all CMDR's making their way to Beagle Point. However, CMDR's not on the Distant Worlds Expedition roster, will only get the Sub-Super-FSD, a normal FSD with 15% added jump range.

Free custom Distant Worlds Expedition paint jobs and decals will also be made available at Jaques Station, so remember to enter the Livery tab in the Outfitting screen to make your ship Distant Worlds Expedition worthy.

Glad to see you make it Aggie! At the very top of the truly inspirational efforts I have witnessed!

I'm surprised nobody found the bypass for the 28.08LY jump between Ceeckia ED-F b45-0 and Ceeckia HJ-D b46-0

A ship with between 23LY and 28LY jump range can jump through Ceeckia IJ-D b46-0

When I found the system, it hadn't been submitted to EDSM, and searching the forums for IJ-D returned nothing.

I avoided that jump, not sure on my route but I managed to save 3 basic boosts compared to the stated route around Ceeckia ED-F b45-0 22.8ly jump range.

Beagle Point now a permit system

FD has today changed the status of Beagle Point to a permit system. This has been instigated for a fear of a repro of the galaxy wide server crash experienced by the mass assembly at Sgr A*, where all the servers crashed and ED was unavailable for hours, much to the dismay of many CMDR's.

CMDR's not already at Beagle Point will need to obtain a permit at Quince. This was done to shorten the return trip for CMDR's in the vicinity of Beagle Point. Please note that if you are not aligned with an Empire power, you have to change to one to enter the Quince without being interdicted and immediately consigned to the void.

Bit busy, have to go, doing a Robigo run and then maybe a mad dash for Beagle Point, seems like it's where all the fun is...oh, wait...

Edit:ninja'd

I've never done the Robigo run before but I'm thinking of doing it with practically the same Asp set up I used for DW. No weapons, but I'll have cargo space instead of the detailed surface scanner and Vehicle bay.

If I get interdicted I'll just submit and then try to escape.

A shieldless! and weaponless Asp Explorer should be workable (92t of cargo) due to it's speed & boost advantage. I use my Python (15Ly laden, 240t of cargo) for the runs and just kills anyone interdicting me (unless I have to run). It's slow getting to and from Robigo, but hey, I'm used to jumping :)

Best missions are given to Elite traders, 5-9 mill. credit missions.

Think my interdiction rate is every 4-5 systems. 100% interdiction rate if moving locally from station to station, so I tend to jump to the next out-of-system mission.

*sad face* hoping its just FDev`s idea of an April fools, but the game is currently down for me, launcher says there is an upgrade, but fails the download, so I cant play :( :( :(

The update was pushed yesterday, Thursday. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=240756.
Think I saw several with the same issue. Worked fine for me though.

Got it sorted now, had to delete some files and the update went through fine, panic over :)

Dropped by the Basecamp to say hi to the folks hanging around, spotted a CMDR ive bumped into at a few of the previous waypoints, his previously lovely yellow Bananaconda looks like its taken one hell of a beating getting here, I really wish there was some visual damage for other ships too, busted up Anacondas look awesome :D

Some of the other paint jobs don't fair well either. My gold conda looks like cheap costume jewelry now!
