To the far rim in a Sidey

Frawd, the thing is: from the moment I knew people could find jump materials and that you could collect them you WERE going to get to Beagle Point. I said this several times in conversations we had. I could understand your reticence but I knew people would help, it's human nature. You were the deserved target of people's desire to see others succeed.

Thanks Cmdr...all your help is appreciated. Hopefully see you tomorrow night (now that the "official meet-up" has been moved to Sunday 3 April at 18:00 gametime)

Day 129 completed:

Today I met up with Cmdr Chetter Hummin who guided me in to the WP23 landing zone (cos I have real trouble finding it, despite perfectly good maps posted by Erimus). I then went rock ratting with Cmdrs Stephen Young and Lyneira who helped me collect a few arsenics and vanadiums...thanks Cmdrs, I appreciate your help.

And finally apologies to Cmdr Mr Crown Vic P71 who popped in just as i had to go and put my kids to bed. Hopefully have a longer meet-up with you tomorrow night.

No worries, I was a fool, didn't realize you're that close and went to orbit first. We'll definitely meet tomorrow, I hope we can enter the same instance!

I'm still contemplating when to leave BP. Either Monday evening, or Thursday evening in case that live event will bring something special. I do feel the urge after sitting here for the 4th week. Especially with the new GPU in my rig, I can't wait to hit the road again and "rediscover" exploring!

No worries Cmdr. I'm sure we can figure out the instance thing...

And also understand the urge to get back on the road ;)

"... just as i had to go and put my kids to bed."
.
No wonder your jump range is so poor if you took the whole family with you.
I won't ask about the sleeping and sanitary arrangements ... ;)

Day 130 completed:

Meet-up at Beagle Point. It was a blast despite the instance problems and server crashes...oh, and the fact that I had to get up at 1.30am and then went to bed again at 3.40am (I'm tired!).

It seems that which-ever instance the little sidey appeared I seemed to draw attention ;) and cause all sorts of shenanigans (except when I appeared in the occasional instance by myself).

As evidenced by these pics:

Drawing attention:

Chaff showers:

And finally, Asp riding shenanigans (with only two SRV explosions along the way):

And thanks to Cmdr Hepburn3D and his fleet of Asp-riding SRVs for putting on the show.

And finally, is that Cmdr Mr Crown Vic P71 and his brick...ah, I mean Keelback in the background ;)

Day 132 Completed:

Spent the evening prospecting with Cmdr Dandak and briefly with Cmdr Nightstrider. At the start of the evening I needed 10 germanium and 11 cadmium to allow my escape from BP.

By the end of the night I needed only 7 cadmium.

Thanks to the two Cmdrs, especially Dandak...the planets certainly seemed against at times.

Day 134 Completed:

PART 1

Spent my evening collecting the final 6 cadmium so that I can escape from Beagle Point and start the run back home. Huge thanks to all the Cmdrs who helped out: Cmdr Dandak, Anthor, Cula-Ta and Karaya. As usual, the generosity of the explorer community knows no bounds. Thanks again cmdrs.

PART 2

<expletive deleted> timezones! <shakes fist>

I had planned to get up at 2.45am Perth time in order to catch 19:00 Gametime (3am Perth time) stream of Educating Ed, except of course BST is +1 GMT (and gametime) so at 2.45 when I logged on there was 15 minutes left of the stream...

Still, it was nice to here Ed and Kaii mention me (and of course all the other amazing Cmdrs) and of course the Rock Rats.

After the stream I had to hang around for some pics. Thanks to Cmdr Traveller_GG for inviting me to his instance where we got some great shots of Conda vs Sidey, and thanks to Cmdrs Draco, Baroness Galaxy, Space Monkeyz (and all the other sorry, I am bad with remembering names).

Here are some pics:

Thanks again guys, these last few weeks have been a blast!!

I'm not sure when I'm going to head home, but it could be as early as today. It's going to take me some time as I am going to take it easy and do some real exploring heading down the eastern edge of the galaxy. I'm sure I'll meet many of you along the way.

Thanks for taking the time to meet with me on BP for a moment even though you had to go, really meant a lot to me. I got a few nice SS ill post later for you. One in front of you and Traveller in my SRV. one that is almost the other side of the SS you took of me hovering over you in my Asp and then I also got a cockpit view pic looking up to you shooting up in to the stratosphere as you leave BP.

Until we meet again Commander o7

Cool, thanks Cmdr....I look forward to seeing your pics.

Altough I was too late to the party as always, I could at least make 1 Screenshot. :p
On the left side Draco with his Imperial Eagle, in front in the DBx most probably Greytest and on the top the famous Frawd Bomb! (who is inspired direcly by the Andromeda Galaxy, as you can see)

If you had to pick ONE image to summarise the whole mad DW adventure it would be this one. I know it's impossible to get everything that has happened into a single picture but this comes closest (IMHO)

Frawd did not set off to be any part of Distant Worlds but in my opinion he became everything it encompassed; and to see his Sidewinder 65,279LY from Sol next to a hulking great Anaconda while others look on, epitomises all that the organisers wanted when *they* set off.

Thanks Cmdr...

And tonight I set off again on another adventure...heading back to the bubble, by the indirect eastern route. Hopefully, with many more meet-ups along the way with all the friends I have made in DW :)

It says a lot that as soon as the words "I'm instanced with Frawd" appeared on Discord, people were queuing up to get winged in :D

That is very true!
The fact that I felt it worth advertising the fact as well :D

while I was honoured by all the attention, I also found it quite amusing that as soon as I landed everybody else would take off...not to leave but to get a better view of the tiny sidey. And then they would start their shenanigans in froNt of me

really great stuff!

Fly safe, Commander! o7

Thanks Cmdr.

I had to laugh at all the comments of "I can't actually SEE you!" coming from new arrivals :)

You were so much in the shadow of the Anaconda you were near impossible to find.
