Is module exchanging possible?

So there is an Outfitting There? If so sell everything, or D class it. Make it light and an A3 FSD will get you out of the pooh!

Already mentioned in past posts, I've checked and even with the lightest fit possible he can't get more than 6,82ly with a A3 FSD.. :/

One other brutal way out (you'll lose the Cobra, though) would be to destroy the cobra and accept the Sidey as replacememt.

Would be the very last option actually.. x)

No shipyard???????

What system/Station is he at?

No shipyards, he's in Eea, I don't remember the name of the outpost but it's S... something. There's only two outposts in this system, and one settlement, no class 4 FSD in this system at all.

You might be able to trick it, if you have some spare money and if you got a shipyard.
The following Idea might work.
Buy a ship that is capable to leave the system. Get a T6 with FSD cl 4 drive you need.
return to the system sell that cl 4 drive and swap ships then rebuy cl 4 in the cobra
then you can strip down the T6 and sell it.

Would work but expensive and time consuming

Miklos

It is possible to jump 6.73LY with a 3A frame shift in a Cobra IV assuming you can correctly fit out the ship...

http://coriolis.io/outfit/cobra_mk_iv/02D4D3A3D1A3D2C---------------.Iw18SQ==.Aw18SQ==

Is that far enough that he can jump out? (Remembering to use economy mode with the route planner) Also are there any landable planets in the system because it might be possible to find the right synthasis materials for "jumponium" which could increase the jump range.

Medb is only 5.72 LY away from Eea and they sell the 4A and 4C frame shift drive in Vela Dock!

OK, get him to buy a 4c Fuel tank, which by the looks is available at Shriver Settlement, that will get him anywhere where he can refit his ship

No wait it won't..... Damn.... this is bad man, and looks as if the sidey is his only option....Damn!

Are you suggesting if they wing up a sold component will be available to their wing mate? Never tried that but it might just be possible I suppose. And a T7 can travel further with 3A FSD than a Cobra, hmmm.

Doubt I'll have chance to test this till tonight but I can if needed as I've got more than 1 account.

EDIT - Well I guess it's not needed now anyway! :D

Didn't see it yes, just figured that Medb was here too, but thanks commander. x) He just said me that he have a C3 and not a A3, wich change everything, I hope they have a A3 here

Hmm...

How about the crazy idea to SuperCruise towards a suitable System and get the Ship within Jumprange that way?
I do think the actual distance to the next System is taken into account for the Hyperjump, so it might be possible to basically Supercruise to get within JumpRange.

Not exactly a sexy plan and has limitations - but a full Cobra Mk.IV let run "over night" through SC might actually work.
With all unneeded Ship Systems disabled, the running Fuel comsumption should be good for a few LY + the Hyperjump.

Actually Shriver does sell the 3A which will get you to Medb..

Mebd is 5,72ly away, the 3B is not enough unfortunatly.. ><
Well, editing, editing.. x)

This could work, never tried though, that's a nice idea you got here, I'll have to try someday!

As Nerwan has said BUY THE 3A at Shriver, Fly to Mdeb and buy the A4 FSD...Issue solved, unless you are going hit us with another issue?

I do know some crazy guys made like over 7LY in SuperCruise (old attempt to reach Permit-locked Systems, which didn't work due to Systems being Instances) - but 16tons of Fuel would be definitely able to cover a significant distance in SC and make that "HyperJump to salvation".
(and that better be a pre-checked and confirmed good place for the Class 4 FSD :D )

-- edit --

At max. speed (2001c), covering 1.0 LY would take 15760sec = 4.3hrs...
Running Fuel consumption per hour, total Fuel available and "Min Fuel" to make the final HyperJump would have to be taken into account for such a bold plan.
