10 seconds to scan? Hardly

Chaff doesn't affect NPC scans. Heat sinks will stop an NPC from locking on to you initially, but has won't stop a scan once the NPC targets you.
Are you sure? Did they change the effect of chaff regarding NPCs? A couple of months ago you could prevent being scanned with chaff.

That one NPC can get pretty annoying if he's chain interdicting all the way to the station.
Took me roughly 10-15 minutes to reach a 600Ls outpost. The NPC chased me all the way to it, ended up being scanned anyway.
Was a random smuggling mission (Rosmerta or someplace close to it).

The thing is, even with submitting to the interdiction, as soon as you hit supercruise the NPC instantly spawns behind you, interdicting again.

High wake out and back in.

No you couldn't.

Players should not be able to stack missions.

Dear God not this again. You are a delivery driver, you are at a depot which has several one ton packages which need to be delivered to the same place. So yeah, obviously the thing to do is to take one of them rolling around in the back of your 108 ton capacity ship, then go back for the next.

'Mission stacking' is nothing more than doing your job efficiently. I have never seen any explanation from someone who thinks it shouldn't be allowed that doesn't amount to 'I don't like the fact somebody else is making money or gaining rank'. So are you the one who's going to change that..?

So it's possible to get out of range of the scanner? I think my boost is around 390 (Asp explorer). I didn't think I could get far enough away in a straight line?

I certainly can in mine.

We know for sure that engaging in combat stops the scan?

Yep.

Have a similar ASP, never got scanned after being interdicted. Since chaff and silent running does not appear to be working, just boosting obviously saved me. NPCs seem not to try hard pursuing you in normal space, you should get away from System Security Vipers easily. Just spam the boost button after you lost/ submitted the interdiction.

Get A rated python. Check!
Get 30 shadow missions. Check!
Shoot cops as you see them, or kill if you feel        off enough. Check!
Profit!

Correct - chaff works only against gimballed weapons - does nothing for scans. Being cold reduces the chance of being targetted for a scan but does not reduce it to zero - and since they are specifically after you since they interdicted you you might as well forget about trying to avoid the scan. All you have to do is - drop first, stick your tail to the sun and max throttle backwards. You will find that they will drop in right in front of you. You should have your weapons out by this point - just a little peashooter will suffice. Target each ship that arrives, swat him once which will stop the scan, and then throttle ahead full and boost right past them and jump to the next system. You need to have sufficient shields to last a salvo or two as you race by them but you don't need much. Cops won't bother to chase you. Pirates will and the clipper is the only one to actually cause some concern since it is fast.

As a lot of people has already said. From experience i only stack 10 missions max and a mixture of some that won't fail if scanned, so if i do, it won't be a complete wasted trip. I find, if i keep to about 5 scanned fail mission for each run, i can normally achieve this quota (about 10m a trip).
Fly Dangerous cmdrs

Now i am role playing here, and what i am describing has not or will happen in RL ;)

So i am a burglar, i've just done a house and am walking down the street with my booty, when i see a copper on foot, about 100 Mtrs away directly behind me! He shouts me to Stop, and submit to a scan (Sorry mean Search)...... So i immediately turn towards him and RUN as fast as i can i pull out my weapon, a rubber cosh.............

WHY the flip would you do this??? You would run away from him????

Now equate above scenario to a Shadow mission!!! You have approx 1Km distance start on the cop, you boost AWAY from him to gain the Extra.5 Km to get out of his scanning range!!

NEVER understood the reasoning of turning towards Cop and Boosting. Yes i know it works for most people (OP obviously not!), and i am not saying my way is better,

but just WHY???????

I'm assuming you're not 1km away and are much closer so by flying passed him you break the scan and he needs to run which takes time and gives you a chance to escape.

edit why the hell is the word p-a-s-s-e-d being changed to rhubarb? LMAO

My findings doing Robigo runs.
  • NPC's pestering about talking to you can be ignored.
  • Pirates will interdict, but don't scan. You can boost away.
  • If Pirates chain interdict jumping out of system and back in seems to reset this.
  • If you see a system authority (SA) message it pays to take notice of what it says.
  • If SA says moving in to interdict he will follow all the way to the station and interdict, and there is also a chance he will pop up when you drop out at the station.
  • If SA calls for assistance chances are that one will be waiting when you drop out at the station.
  • Targeting and deploying weapons sometimes stops scans, but not always. Firing on them always stops scans.
  • Scan range for SA is currently 1.5km. Outside that you are safe.
  • If they are following you at the station you can outrun them to a distance of 8km and they will High Wake. Keep them targeted and keep boosting until you see the high wake pop up. This can take some time and might leave you 100km+ out from the station. Further, going out in Super Cruise and dropping back in does not help. He will still be there. Jumping to the another system and back in will reset I think, but I find that outrunning is the better method.
  • If you have messages from both pirates and system authority, when interdicted by one, the other will drop in right in front of you. Watch out! (This seems to happen quite often regardless of messages).
  • If you have report crimes against you on, the authority vessel will often attack the pirate shooting at you allowing you to escape (This one is funny). This can be exploited sometimes.

Should have read Needs to turn which takes time.

Because a policeman on foot isn't any kind of relevant analogy for someone trying to turn a spaceship around.

Don't look at it too deeply Red, it's meant in loose term, Just .....well i still fail to see a good enough reason why you would run/drive/fly/sail/float/walk/hop/hobble/cartwheel/jump/ TOWARDS the said policeman and not away from said federal enforcer.

Just WHY!!

You seem kinda simple so I'll keep this simple for you: They have to turn around slowly, making it harder to catch up to you than if you'd just run in the same direction they're facing. Just imagine you and your fictional police officer are wearing skis on their feet and you'll see the advantage in running past them instead of away from them.

Thank you for explaining, Simple i think you said, ah bless. Not going to enter a discussion at your level with you sir, i have bigger standards than to start a one way path to an infraction. Lets just say you do it your way i'll do it mine, i did say that i don't believe anyway is better.

Fly safe and enjoy your way.

Have a good day!

Robigo runs should be done in unarmed, unshielded ships. You waste your time in turning towards the cops or whatever... run like a wind, my son.

Last night I've tried it with a Python. Yes it can outrun scans. Made 90 mill in one run with 204 cargo space. 16-17 deliveries, less than 3 hours total. Could have made a nice round 100 mill, but wanted to test that new configuration and was hasty in picking missions. So to anyone who says "Python can't outrun cops" i say biowaste. Can be done, easily.

Yeah the Python can outrun scans most of the time, safest bet is still to shoot then high wake. I've had Vipers tailing me, boosting in my Python and they easily keep up.

Anyway, I'm back in Robigo after a few months, sitting in my Python with 70 mill in the hold.. Can't stop myself thinking about how rediculous this is, people complaining about cheating NPC's when they are getting an easy ride, the whole mechanic is screwed.. Where are all these slaves coming from? why isn't the system in lockdown? Dev's should fix the NPC issues then place a permanent police presence at Robigo, the forum reactions would be hilarious..

We definitely need high profit smuggling ingame, the idea behind it is great.. Having a single well known hub that never get's raided makes the whole thing seem badly thought out. High profit illegal routes should be dynamic & temporary, cmdr's should be hunting for these kind of locations.
