1% Away from Elite Combat Rank. Help needed

I am going the “no grind” route too only with a HOTAS (ED is my first game in 20 years and I had never used a joystick before).
I am a bit behind you in rank. I am only Dangerous, Entrepreneur and Pioneer after 14 weeks, play time. The longer I put off getting Elite the better.
So well done for not grinding. :)

The mind boggles how you have managed to get so far with just a keyboard. I struggle to get out of the station if my joystick goes on the blink.

If it weren't Ben posting this I'd of thought it was an April Fool.

Me too. Grinding is for mugs.

Gratz on the (still "near"?) Elite Rank, Ben :)

Just reaching "Dangerous" myself (albeit with a Rift and a HOTAS), and it is good to see I am not the only one not grinding :)

Ben, Isinor permit is not being issued now because there are no stations there. How may I ask do you get to fly there without a permit. I wasted two days getting Allied with Isinor only to find out that permit is unavailable!

There was initally the possibility to gain the permit just like any other, but this was apparently an oversight. Some people got the permit during that time, but it is now no longer possible to obtain it.

I salute you! I'm also keyboard-only and non-grind, but I'm some distance behind you in terms of ranking. Might take me another year at current progress rate. Nice to see someone else with a similar approach tho.

Yeah, I go my permit a long time ago when I was out hunting for strange going on and found the Federal convoy in Isinor carrying military grade hafnium...which I borrowed without a single kill using a cobra and a pal in a vulture playing decoy. It was fun!
