Mark Boss: A fond farewell.

I read somewhere that Mark Boss was ill. Hope he's feeling better soon. Can't wait to see him on twitch again!!

He certainly hasn't posted at all this week so I assume he's got that bug thats going around or something.........

Hurry up and get better Mark we miss you on the forums

I see what you done there,

Mark no longer works for Frontier Development. I dont want to speculate as to the reason behind Marks departure but i will say that the Gaming industry is a cut throat business. im sure Mark will do well in his next role.

Really? Surely they would have told us about it by now. SO this being the case who is our new community manager? and has he/she/it made an appearance yet?

Confirmed! as I needed to contact mark and I had his mobile number from when i was at the Baftas. mark informed me that he was no longer with Frontier. I broke the news to the Skype community yesterday.

Man that sucks, he's the best Community Manager we've had. Really made me feel like we had a connection to Frontier.

So did he leave yesterday? I guess there's been no time for an announcement in that case.

Currently Jessie has picked up from where mark left off, I dont know if she is taking over or just covering until another community manager brought in.

Wow abrupt much or what? That is indeed sad, as Mark was doing a great job (or so it seemed from this side) dropping in the newsletters, the whole twitch stream and tweeting even on a weekend.

Does that mean people are scrabbling around to put in a CV to fill the vacancy?

That's a shame, he seemed like a decent bloke. Unfortunately these things happen but I would have thought Frontier would have made an official announcement.

I quite liked mark he was around the forums more than most

Well I wish him good luck in his future endeavors

Still doesn't answer the question who's our new manager or maybe there looking for a new community manager......

What happened (none of my business I quess, but I'll ask anyway)?

Are we such a horrible community that the managers burn out after a few months, one after another

?

Or did FD just decide we don't need a dedicated manager?

Or did MB get greedy and/or FD stingy

? (TBH, if this is the case, I don't need to or want to know

)

i bet it was a problem of
too many commitments at same time.

Mark looks like a very busy guy to me.

i understand that Mark left last monday.

Can i just say that mark was very professional in his reply to me when i contacted him, all he just told me that he was no longer at frontier and informed me that Jessie was handling where mark left off.

Interesting. I agree its probably best not to speculate but these sort of things happen. Best of luck to Mark and whoever fills the role

This is why sometimes our community makes me cringe. We're like a group of 14 year olds sometimes.

Re Mark: Very sad to hear it, he was doing a good job and really enjoyed his energy and enthusiasm. And the twitch feed was the best thing I'd seen done community wise.
