So.. I went over to HIP 93377 with my Orca today in order to participate in the Community Goal and bring some mining equipment there in style. I arrived in the system with an empty hold to sign up for the CG, and just before I reach the station I am interdicted by a CMDR in a Python, he is nice enough to send a messgae to me, "Stand by for cargo scan".. so I submit, he scans, and is dissapointed by my empty hold and flies away...
..as soon as I re-enter supercruise I am interdicted again, by another CMDR, and since my throttle is zeroed, I auto-submit. As we enter normal space I see the other ship fly away from me, it is a pointy triangular one... I'm like "He interdicted me in a Viper just to run away?... "
I target him, and see it is not a Viper, it is a Fer-De-Lance.. so why he's running away?.. I wonder. No messages, no demands, no shooting. I send him a "So?.." message.. no reply.. at 6km he turns around and comes at me. I remain moving slowly, pointing right at him, with max pips to shields and hardpoints retracted.. he might still want to talk. But no, as he comes close he opens up with an impressive array of rail guns, taking my shields from max to one dim ring remaining in one barrage. I immediately boost right at him, and my trusty Orca reaches 400+ speed before slamming into his Fer-De-Lance. My ramming attack is a great success, his shields collapse immediately under the impact, and his hull is down to 80. What was left of my shields is gone too, and I also suffer some hull damage, but still, taking down the shields of a Fer-De-Lance in one punch is nice.
After that he shoots again, missing wide, I shoot back, missing even wider.. then I decide staying to fight a more manouverable ship with vastly superior firepower is stupid, so I boost again and do a Brave Sir Robin. He lands some parting shots as I open up the distance, but I get away with 19% hull remaining and canopy critical. Soon he leaves the area in a frame shift wake... and I jump to a neighbouring system for repairs.
It was an exciting time, but I don't think I'll go back there in my Orca.. its Re-Buy is a bit expensive for operating in such a high threat area.
