Could you clarify please?

If there are small, objective issues with a submission (e.g. mentioning a particular character or organisation that we intend to use in our own story, or neglecting to include a location for publication), we will give feedback to that effect. But given the finite amount of time at our disposal, it isn’t possible for us to enter into a discussion about more complex or subjective issues. Ultimately, if there’s uncertainty over why a submission hasn’t been selected for publication, the best advice I can give is to refer to the guidelines at the top of this thread.

Title: Canonn heads out for deep space rendezvous
Location: Galnet
Time: As you wish
Description:
The escape pod of a Canonn scientist named Shannon Day has been miraculously recovered by a long distance explorer named CMDR Josh Hawkins, according to transmissions received from his ship.

In these transmissions, he has shown how he has been able to extract her pilot's log from the escape pod. While playing it back, he then discovered that her ship was sabotaged by Socha Korbemile - the man who betrayed Dr Arcanonn many weeks ago.

Now, the Canonn has announced that two scientists, CMDRs Bowen the Kotoc and Julian McCoy, have been dispatched to try to find this explorer, meet up with him and bring Shannon Day's escape pod back home to Thompson Dock, Varati.

Apparently, when news of Shannon's rescue reached Arcanonn, he was said to be frantic, requesting that someone go out there to bring her home as soon as possible. Speculation is rife among the scientists of the Canonn as to why she is so important to their chief scientist.

-- CMDR Josh Hawkins has an established YouTube series, featured in the newsletter once or twice. The latest of these features a message from Korbemile to Day confessing to the Sabotage https://youtu.be/-fWZggErl4g

We have been working with him to link the two stories over the last 6 weeks or so, and these two commanders have indeed set out to meet him.

-- the video also has established lore on our site, with the whole Korbemile spy storyline, with the latest installment linking to this same video. http://canonn.science/2016/03/25/socha-korbemile-sabotaged-a-science-vessel/

Damn I've missed the holiday cutoff!

Have fun Ian D!

I haven't been back to Lave to check but I've been at Kappa Fornacis a bit recently for the CG and the local news I see only goes back to October last year, were there no bespoke articles earlier than that?
Sorry to quote myself but I'm still trying to work this out.

Patch 2.0.05 included some changes to local news. Is it possible this is why I can't see older news in Kappa Fornacis? I'll go and check Lave and Lugh soon when I next get chance to get into game. If it looks wrong I'll raise a bug.

So by this logic, either I don't have enough corroborating in game evidence regarding the rogue farragutts... or I genuinely struck a thread that is currently being worked on by FD...

Regardless time to troll through the general forum and reddit to see if I can hunt down more info regarding the pirate farraguts.

Title: Gilya Signature Weapons Restored To Markets

Location: Galnet wide please as this is a restored rare trade commodity item of interest to all

Gilya Signature Weapons, a rare trade commodity prohibited in a number of jurisdictions are now once again in production at Bell Orbital in the Gilya system thanks to the intervention by priests from Sacra Oculus, interested commercial parties and the actions of independent Commanders from the Pilots Federation. A spokesman for the Gilya Law Party declared that "the successful restoration of this extremely sought after rare trade commodity in a series of combat operations has resulted in an independent, free and commercially profitable High Tech system".

In addition to Gilya Signature Weapons, the independent High Tech system now produces Progenitor Cells, Combat Stabilizers and also has two lucrative Black Market operations at other stations in the system and the administrators of Bell Orbital welcome all traders to benefit from the fine commodities available and to continue to express their support for the Gilya Law Party.

Title: The hyper-mycoid
Location: Galnet
Time: As you wish
Description:

Around 50 years ago, thargoids retreated from human inhabited space because of a mycoid virus that infected their ships, rendering them useless. Does that sound similar to you? That’s right: Unknown Artifacts. I don’t think their similar effects are unrelated.

The virus was genetically engineered by the Intergalactic Naval Reserve Arm (INRA). Could it be “tuned” to attack human technology as well? If this is the case, then the question arises: Who did it?

It could have been the thargoids, although I think it is more likely that a human did it. Specifically, someone related with INRA. Even though it was oficially disbanded, their research wasn’t lost. People able to make use of their technology would need to be highly trained, though. All we know is that the most skilled Engineers in the bubble are currently hiding in their secret bases. Will their past be unveiled someday? I say it’s very likely that at least one of these individuals is related to INRA, and if that’s the case, they will also be related to the virus and potentially to the UAs.

But why would they do this? Maybe they want to release a plague. Maybe they want us to startle an ancient alien race (as we have to destroy the barnacles to gather the cure). We just don’t know… Yet.

PS: If it's too long, you can erase the last paragraph. I think that the text still transmits the message I wanted to give without it. It was hard to cut it down from over 300 words, I'm sorry :/
PPS: Engineers is capitalized on purpose ;)

This may already have been answered somewhere, but are you open to submissions of several Galnet articles to be posted over a period of time which tell a larger story arc? If so, what is the best way to submit them? One at a time, or all at once so you can review the entire story?

Hello Thompson, my old friend.

Title: Hello Thompson, my old friend.
Location: Everywhere, or just the Varati system
Time: when you get a chance
Description:
Commander Canonn has touched down at Thompson Dock in Varati after a full galactic circumnavigation.

Just moments ago, Varetian citizens saw the return of their flagship, the Research & Supply Vessel: Gnosis. The Anaconda had set out on a unique mission similar to one that explorers might have taken during the Age of Sails in human history. The Canonn name has been marked on 33 earth-like worlds and over 4,500 systems across 154,463 light-years in only 24 days. The RSV Gnosis sustained only minimal damage to the hull and power plant. Using simple navigation techniques, the crew were able to maintain a distance of roughly 25,000 light-years from Sagittarius A* the whole way around.

When asked "what's next?" the crew aboard the Canonn vessel smiled and pointed towards the core.
"The War & Peace Nebula looks nice! But first, sleep!"

I have had 3 related articles published locally, by submitting them all at the same time, with dates. Submitting one at a time runs the risk that your story might hit a problem with one article, at a later date, and derail your story.

Title: The Sound of the Police

Location: Galnet

Time: ASAP please

Description:

System security forces are facing hard questions tonight as a devastating report by the Pilots Federation reveals widespread police malpractice.

The report centres around what is known as 'Ram and Scam', where security vessels issue fines for dangerous flying after intentionally colliding with speeding victims.

"With security budgets being cut, this is a tempting alternative revenue stream" stated the reports author, Albert Pascale. "In some extreme cases, individual police officers have pocketed the money. This deception generates millions of credits each year by abusing common law and it has to stop."

A spokesman representing security personnel refuted the reports findings:

"There is no evidence to support these wild accusations. If commanders are not speeding, they will not get fined for dangerous flying."

UNEXPECTED GAINS FOR EXPLORERS' PARTY - The Kokan Sentinel

LOCATION - Kokan, Chhal, HIP 72043, HIP 69999

TIME - ASAP

TEXT -

The political wing of the Institute of Galactic Exploration and Research (IGER) made unexpectedly large gains at the local elections this week in the Federal system of Kokan, coming in first place with 39% of the vote, although a coalition government made up of the second and third place Social Kokan Coalition and HIP 72479 Alliance has kept control in the system Parliament, albeit at a much reduced majority.

The IGER, a co-operative organisation made up of scientists and explorers and backed by technology companies in the region, became the official Opposition in the system though not without controversy. IGER calls for the creation of a "safe harbour" region of space to be set up free of interference from any of the major polities for the purpose of conducting research outwith the Federal Government's laws and regulations on the same. Its campaign was controversial as Federal opposition to the organisation alleged that the only way for it to achieve this aim would be for it to secede altogether from the Federation.

Despite this, Gavin Dyllon, the IGER's leader in the system, described himself as "pleased" with the vote and that it constituted a "wake up call" for the Coalition, which many see as having been complacent in its administration of the system in recent months.

TITLE - Thrite patriots fight back Imperial influence.

LOCATION - Thrite and Hsuanqueno...Or Galnet if possible

TIME
- ASAP

TEXT - For several months now, the system of Thrite has been under a state of civil war between the "Five noble families of Thrite" and the patriotic insurgence group known as the"Defense party of Thrite". This civil war began after the Five families accepted a offer to join the Empire under Zemina Torvel's influence.

However one brave woman by the name of "Moria Wagner" saw this as "treason" that they would "sell out" their independence to the Empire and brought together like minded patriots to do what they can to defy Imperial influence. The reason its called the "Defense party" is because they see this as a Imperial invasion on their culture.

On this day however the Defense part has delivered a crushing blow as they successfully launch a attack on the Amundsen Station during a meeting of the Patriarch/matriarchs of the five families. None of them were hurt and manged to escape but the station is now under the Defense party's control.

The families now reside in the nearby system "Hsuanqueno" and await for Imperial assistance to help them defuse the situation. Matriarch of the Maxim family, "Kitchra Maxim" had this to say about the situation "We accepted the Empire's offer for the good of Thrite and theses "Terrorists" look to only destroy the home we attempt to preserve."
