I have to say this was the most interesting and awesome Educating Ed live stream so far. The Salomé encounter was absolutely brilliant! [up]

But then we can't search and participate in the CG at the same time... Hard choice if that happens...

Well, based on earlier responses regarding the overall direction towards of The Rift, some wobble and Drew's latest post, we are looking at this piece of the galactic cake. Then the question would be if its 12kLy's or 22 kLy's out.

Question, watching from outside the galaxy, from 180deg towards the galactic core, does the RR-line points upwards or downwards? So we can plot a cone / cylinder to search within.

True, but I think it's just for exposing the next clue. Regardless, you are probably right. I'm just past the H&S nebulae right now and I'd probably race back to the bubble if there were an exploration CG.

The RR-line is flat in the Galactic plane. Constant Y=48.75.

And you are probably right that many of us will race back to sell data if that will the goal. And we hopefully get confirmation that we are selling to the right "organization", remember Salomé comment on "Be careful who you sell it to"...

It is exactly this kind of thing what I seek. For now, at best there is a lot of GL-A / RO-C sectors. Assuming that this is the right way and knowing that it is practically impossible to find a specific system without knowing its sector, searches may take a while.

Finally had time to update my frend list with luckyluke's rifter list....That's grown! Took me a while to send all them requests out. :p

Ofc. It's just a frendly request. Accept or decline as you guys see fit. :D

Is this a bug, im 1200Ly from Sol and when Im in a jump a salvageable wreckage Poi comes up, but when I go back there is nothing there?

Isn't there a line somewhere in the dialogue with kahina talking about following the line to the rift and then going high above the plane of the galaxy? I'll look for the dialogue but it is stuck in my mind for some reason.

I'm not thinking separately but together. There are so many systems of the form SYSTEM AA-A B#-B where a and b are letters and # a number I'm thinking there's a good case for when you encounter a new area like borovit for example and going straight to BOROVIT GL-A R0-C

You see, after so much witchspace, you start seeing things. Ghosts... Maybe it's stuff that has been there forever, but never noticed before. The dullness of each jump makes you look at that unknown matter flying by with more detail. You start following the traces of those lights, or those planet shaped figures. I've learned to deal with it. Those trips through witchspace have become routine. My sight gets lost between the play of lights, stars and galaxies. In each jump I get doozy, sleepy, hypnotized... And then I'm always woken back to reality by a star approaching at great velocity...

My last jump was different though... I was taken out of my hipnosys right before exiting back to our realm. My sight was following the dance of lights and colors, watching those lights whizz by at varying speeds. And then, out of nowhere, four to five lights appeared to the front and left of me. They were not the typical ones, no... I had never seen them before, it was new. It scared the hell out of me!!! It was a fraction of a second, four to five lights, bunched together in what seemed like a formation. Bright red like braking lights, or like our dreaded unscoopable stars are seen in the galaxy map. They didn't travel like the rest either against me, they just appeared out of nowhere.

Sadly, it was so fast that I couldn't take a screenshot. I'm even doubting of myself without it. Has anybody had something similar? I have enough jumps on my back to know what is normal or not, but this has left me wondering if it was just a glitch in my jump, my mind, or something else entirely...

Do we have a psychologist in the rift?

Myself and someone on Reddit reported seeing an extremely bright light in normal space. My encouter was in a combat zone or compromised nav beacon (don't remember which one).
Unfortunately I decided to finish a kill before making a screenshot and the light had gone when I was done fighting.

Haha I'm kinda the same in game. I don't talk much but only because.....the game doesn't have a spellcheck haha. :p
I'm also in the middle of trying to get my inara to work...with the rifter patch. But....I'm so very hopeless at computer's. :p I've got a trusty Co pilot (my wife) working on it when she can me bothered so hopefully I'll get it working in a month :D
