Is it time for FD to let us submit emblems for our ships?

Let's face it, the 12 year old boys who are busy flying around in the starter systems with big ships blowing up new players would use giant decals, just because their adolescent minds would think its funny.

And why would that be a problem? Considering slavery, murder and drug-trafficking is perfectly okay, I think we can take the next big step and acknowledge there is such a thing as a . BTW, have you seen the new distant worlds decal?

I get the worry, but... I play Forza every single day. With the absolute worst of players. Their language over the mic' certainly confirms as much.

Thing is, not once have I seen crudely drawn genitalia on a single car. And I've been racing online since 2011.

I just don't get where this fear comes from. I've never seen it in action.

And even if you did see it, it doesn't need FD to go all pearl-clutching and fainting couch trying to curate it. Make "offensive decal" a valid reason to report a player, and then they decide if it really is offensive and if so simply remove it. The ones nobody is offended by enough to report them, they can justifiably leave alone

Yes, I can agree with a vetting process.

That's actually why I suggest custom emblems be a premium service. To fund it. Charge a high price, I don't care.

This is a proposition to FD to make extra money on a non-impacting feature. If people can't afford it, well, I suggest they review how big this game is.

In the ED universe, there will never be something like that "all over the place".

Actually, I do not expect many penises. But I do expect some players/groups to come out sporting SS Totenkopf insignas or something like that.

Lets face it, it will become unmanageable, like it has in so so many other games that allow player custom stuff in an online game, maybe if they had a rating system that allowed players who submitted good enough stuff to begin vetting other people's stuff as well (anonymously, so people wouldn't know who's vetting what) that might work, so the community as a whole did it, rather then overloading devs.

I think most players willing to pay for an emblem tool feel the same way.

Kids won't pay a premium just to get a #### on their ship.

Human issue sadly...and even of they put a filter in they won't be able to stop everything.
Hopefully they can put something in only the player sees, that might be something for those who like naming their ships.

I'm still waiting and wanting some Power related decals for ships, like official ones with a bit of variety regarding which role the ship does.

Personally I'd love to see just how many hundreds of different Magical Anime Girl skins could be created every month.

Judging by standard internet physics, I'd say hundreds. Can't wait to dock in a station full of this.

All because I couldn't care any less about it, but I know that the Anaconda pilot behind me with his gold limited edition paintjob is going to be losing his mind, and as soon as I dock I'm going to Alt-Tab to the forums and start refreshing to watch him flip his table.

Don't give em any ideas like this either...they'll turn it into a way to sell it as an "expansion" a bit like the noddy commander creator "expansion" in phase 3 of this season. I mean Cmon who really wants that as an expansion??? If it came alongside the walking talking FPS that's apparently coming then great.

Yes because if they do it right it'll be a huge influx of new money, which can be funneled back into game development.

Seriously, they could justify hiring an entire new branch of staff just to handle this part of the game exclusively and it would pay for itself many times over every quarter.

As your ship is you in game, if you want your persona to look like a giant appendage then so be it. I wouldn't be offended I'd shake my head, vaguely remembering what it was like to be twelve myself and move on. There are far worse things out there to see. As for people who create wonderful decals or even paintjobs later then that is something to cheer about. Diversity and pride.
