A proposition for Exploreres

Ah! I knew they weren't just in it 'out of the goodness of their hearts'!

I've seen multiple fuel rats go 11kLy in the wrong direction for a rescue, but hey you keep believing that the rats are selfish creatures only in it for self glory and back slapping. They are part of something that makes this community great. They will always do their best to help someone out, all you have to do is ask.

They have fuel and you don't. Any questions?

Oh well haven't YOU just waltzed up the ranks of the social ladder? Not only a dispatcher but also one of the CEO's I'm not changing my mind about ya, your only in it for numero uno, one thing I can't stand more than green-horns it's Fuel Rats ALWAYS lording their supremacy over the rest of us! Don't think I don't know how you guys make your money, sure you sometimes bring these poor stranded pilots back home alive, but most of the time you're just there stealing their ships and jettisoning them out of their own airlock! Taking the ships and cargo back with you to sell for profit. Best thing about it for you guys is that hey! No one will miss them! They're just another poor bloke or sheila who got their fannies baked in the outback!

Bloody fuel rats...

You know if they actually did that, I might join them...

Oh you're one of those 'Distant Worlds' pilots are you? No stress in your boots gathering all that data, run out of fuel or damage your ship have the bloody fuel rats right out there catering to your every boo-boo. The lot of us explorers aren't so lucky as you, we go out 5,000-60,000 Ly on a regular basis, if WE run out of fuel we're dead. Ship breaks down. We're dead. Misjump? Dead. Distant Worlds was nothing but a chance for a bunch of people wet behind the ears who were to afraid to go it alone. Look at you and that nice little patch, the rest of us deep space explorers don't get such a fancy thing as that!

as a Fuel rat i've saved 3 people who were out of fuel in the Galaxy core myself, and there have been countless other rescues.

Fuel rats don't care where you are if you're out of fuel.

He's joking ;) Don't take it too seriously :)

Fair enough, we're not out to change peoples opinions. If you want fuel, call us! Otherwise fly safe.
Although considering the Fuel rats are less than a year old and have re-fuelled over 10,000 people I'd argue its possible someone may just miss us.

Thank you and goodnight :)

More than 500.

I guess thats why you are the PR guy with your facts and all that.. :D

I can neither confirm nor deny that that has ever happened *serious PR face*

But feel free to call us anytime if you're in need of fuel :D

I think I'll take my chances out there with the Thargoids.

Oh yeah they 'accidentally' went 11,000 ly in the 'wrong direction' just means that there was just another victim in that direction. Yeah you say that now but you just wait!

(not breaking character, but what is a pr-face?)

quick, someone notify the White Asp division, he's onto us.

before anyone asks, the Fuel Rats where not involved in any way in the disappearance of Lord Celestine. anyone who claims otherwise or has any "proof" are clearly lying and working for the Thargoids.

The 'goids totally dig our snickers flavoured fuel.

Don't worry, the 11kly guy survived. It's just too much work to tow a Anaconda back to the bubble when you're in a hauler ._. ;)

(That face that represantatives of big companies are making when they're accused of something and can't deny it. Definitely not a happy face. :D )

Its quite interesting to see that as a whole Explorers so far in this thread, are more interested in the Credits than the advancement of tech we use or the distribution of data to commanders.
UC currently keep all the data to themselves. Also they pay for the same data over and over again Kinda strange why they do that.
Alowing us to buy the data for quadrants from them would seem more beneficial to them than paying us to re-discover the same systems over and over.

But yes I suppose easy credits are easy credits, so why change that. And who needs a better GalMap right ?

You mean you didn't just ice the poor chap and commandeer his ship instead? Ha missed yer chance with that one didn't ya? Or did the Anaconda still have enough fuel in it to put up a fight?

(And thanks for that I thought it was something like that but wanted to confirm it)

Or maybe they are in favour but don't believe your methods are the correct way of achieving the results you seek... <- My position.

I've been with the fuel rats for a few weeks and haven't seen a single client who hasn't had rats sent out to them, no matter of what position in the galaxy they're in

The Universal Cartographics is just a middle man, think of GalCop except for exploration concerns. If you go to Li's space and you buddy up with his folk the Universal Cartographics there will pay 200% additionally to whatever you discovered). The credits is just an extra incentive to commanders, I believe a lot of commanders wouldn't even bother taking the time out of their day to even so much as look in the direction of the stars if it weren't for the credits! Although quite a few more commanders have taken to the endless skies ever since they doubled the asking price a few months back.

Yeah you might think you'll be doing everyone a favor by saying that they ought to sell their information for free but they paid good money for that information, and the reason they buy multiple data from various commanders is because they do need to CONFIRM that data! Bottom line is, no money in exploration, no exploration data, no data that you want to be given away to the beggars out there. Nobody wins your way.

Exploration is by far the "grindiest" way to make many credits.

I'll agree that a better GalMap would be nice, but I don't see how a boycott could bring FDev to prioritize the GalMap.

For the part why the pay for the same data over and over again: Probably for confirmation reasons. In science for example you don't rely on a single result, you repeat the experiment (if possible) hundred or thousand times to make sure your results are correct. Maybe UC has the same politics? Though it's still not a reason to pay the full payout for the 10000th scan of a ELW. Should be reduced with everytime the planet is scanned. I personally like to imagine how my chara sits for weeks on some spacestations, haggling with some UC representative for hours about the price of Level 3 scans of ELWs and WWs.

Exploration, like so many other things in this game, is unfinished and won't stay in this state for ever. I'm sure that reworks of the Galmap are on FDevs list, too. So maybe you should have patience instead of a boycott :)

I never said for free.
I just said they should sell us the data they collect.
Then let us use that data in our GalMaps.

Nothing was mentioned about free :)

I realise its Fdev. I was trying not to break the 4th wall... O well.
