Where to sell DW exploration data?

Ok, most of us DWers are returning to the bubble with anywhere from 100-300 million in exploration data. And we have Salomé giving her warning "be careful who you sell it to".

So um, I guess the question is, where would she like us to sell it?

I have my normal "safe" system where I sell exploration data, but that is a federal system and I'm guessing our imperial senator wouldn't be too keen on us flogging our data to the feds.

So where are you selling yours? Or are you planning to hang onto the data in hopes of an exploration CG?

Salomé is part of the Children of Raxxla, so possibly sell it to her faction? They have a station at HR 6421.

Other than that what about the Pilots Federation (although that will require access to the founders world).

I suspect (pure speculation) that Salomé's comments are the prelude to a competing pair of exploration CGs that might be a turning point in one of the main storylines. Whether this happens before or after 2.1 is another matter - I would think that there would need to be some time to allow people to return, including also the FGE fleet that will not be arriving at Beagle Point until the end of May. Be careful whom you sell the data to in any exploration CG, is how I will look at it now. (Those exploration CGs looking for Emperor's Dawn outposts in 1.4 seemed a bit dodgy, especially as they all turned out to be located in inhabited systems).

Since I plan to be back before the start of May, I have compiled a list of systems on the frontier (outside of Powerplay) to sell my data to. Most of these are Imperial (I'm after the Facece permit to complete the set) but I'd like to save some for the CoR, The Dark Wheel and The Pilot's Federation. I need to check which, if any, bases and outposts The Dark Wheel control: although I have the Shinrarta Dezhra permit, they might also have expanded into surrounding systems.

I'd recommend selling at least a part of it to Jaques. His station's in a safe system, and he never forgets a face.

If you favor helping out, the Fuel Rats could use your data. Our player faction has just expanded into a new system and could use the influence boost. I'm at work so cannot find the exact system but if you go to www.fuelrats.com and then select "Minor Faction Task Board", you'll find the new system name.

Even turning in data at either station owned by the Fuel Rat Mischief in the Fuelum System will be helpful.

And then there's the ongoing effort of Adle's Armada to secure the Eravate system. Or any other of the "BGS" threads that are currently active, depending on your personal preferences.

With a few hundred million of exploration data, carefully sold, you also might push over any minor system to a faction of your choice. And get RSI in your index finger :p

I believe Shinrarta is under Dev control, and they dont want Dark Wheel outside of the system. Spent several weeks trying to get Dark Wheel to expand, would get them up to 30% or so, and next day BHAM back down to 6%.
Last I heard, they did own a ground base there to sell to.

I have been thinking this a lot lately and i will most likely sell my findings in Sol, for two obvious reasons.

Sol is the system our travel distance in Distant Worlds was measured all the time, so although we didnt start our journey from there, me thinks it makes a perfect system to end this voyage.
The other reason being, im aiming for buying a Corvette at some point, so i would assume that my data will help my rank increase in Federal navy. ;)

We'll see if theres any exploration data cg when i arrive, but i doubt i will wait for one.

What comes to that what Salome said, i dont know about that.. Sounded a bit vague what she said about selling the data. As long as theres no better or more information, im not listening to her. :D

1: Don't ask a public location.

2: What I do, chose a location you can jump to when entering the bubble that isn't directly on the edge but just a bit deeper the initial layer, find it to a faction you want to support. sell away.

Some good suggestions folks. I might spread it around a bit. My normal "safe" system will probably still be my first port of call. Still got 12kly before I'm back though so plenty of time to ponder where to sell :)

I'm planning on doing something slightly risky and ranking up with LYR before selling. When I reach rank 5, any LYR controlled system will do the trick.. Diaguandri or Lembava more than likely..
