Cutter va Corvette Combat/Warship Balance Theory

So I had a thought about the combat ability of cutter vs corvette while bored at work. What if both of these ships are balanced to be equal warships.... Just they are balanced around content not in the game yet?

I am talking about ship launched fighters.

Just because they both have 2x fighter "doors" does not mean we will be limited to only 2 fighters total. That is deployed OR stored. IN MY OPINION I could see a corvette with a 2 fighter escort and possibly one fighter in reserve. On the other hand I don't think it would be out of place to see a cutter with a 4 fighter escort and another 4 to 8 backup fighters (due to those class 8 internals).

TLDR: Does the cutter fall short of a corvette in a combat comparison because we are trying to compare them as "battleship" vs "battleship" when it should be "battleship"(corvette) vs "light carrier"(cutter)?

Looking at the size/volume of an F63 Condor (Dimensions 13.5L - 10.5W - 2.5H/270 cubic metre) I reckon that would need the same on ship volume as a 128 T cargo bay (320 cubic metres) so you might be able to carry 4 Condor class fighters in the Cutter, 2 in each of the 256 T cargo slots.

A Sidey is a lot bigger (Dimensions 14.9L - 21.3W - 5.4H/1740 cubic metre) so I think you'd need a capital ship for Sideys and above
 
Wonder if the fighters are going to fold up in any way similarly to the srv to take up less space.
 
Interesting theory OP, however the way I interpret the ship description is that the cutter/corvette both get 2 fighters total. I wouldn't be surprised if the conda/corvette/cutter get a new internal slot just for the hangars, just like we got a new slot for planetary landing suites.

I think the main reason the cutter comes up a bit short compared to the corvette is that the cutter also doubles as the best trading ship in the game.

And the cutter is as close to being invincible as it gets. Some players need to understand, being able to literally walk away from near any engagement is every bit as valuable as having a ship that is a weapons platform.

I hope my theory is right or they revisit the cutters stats after the panther clipper shows up. I have always been a fan of mother ship and fighter\drone gameplay in other games. Looking forward to 2.2

Valuable? Possibly. Fun? No not really.
