They failed something through a fault in the game, not their own. The same as failing any missions due to a bug. How is that entitlement? It's the fault of FD. The game didn't work as it is supposed to, causing a failed mission.

Because they are asking for the money for the missions, on the assumption they would have succeeded.

They have invested Zero CR in the cargo, so there is no loss to their credit balance, only a loss of potential earnings BUT those potential earnings were not guaranteed, as they might have failed the missions normally.

That they could have still failed the missions normally invalidates the argument it was their time lost, unless you are saying they would have argued failing the mission normally would also be a waste of their time deserving compensation.

Hyperbole. It isn't that much more lucrative than any other activity, as featured in this thread. Besides, even if it was, what do you care?

hyperbole yes but that thread was also rather low end of earning. Personally on a python I can easily make 50 mil in 3 hours (about 16.6 mil per hour) doing robigo. 5 hours might be a hyperbole but it should be rather easy to get an anaconda within a week.
Hell as a counterpoint in this thread they did it in 19 hours.

I'm not however in the camp of nerfing Robigo. It is already challenging considering you can have anywhere between 5 to 9 NPCs every other system jump spawn all of whom could be simply offering to betray your current employer or all be lining up to take turns interdicting you.

Personally, I don't care.

But the way Error hammers on about it in the Xbox forum, you'd think each run takes a year off his life expectancy. I think he's a little silly about it really.

I only want to see a nerf to see an end to these wah-wah threads about it.

Robigo certanly wasn't a big help. Every trade route is rather empty. Once where you would see 300+ Anacondas and such you see maybe a hundred if you're lucky, meanwhile at Robigo.. I wish I could rob those :) .

It's just the certain mindset that is needed, I guess.
For me, failure isn't waste of time, nor is success. Generally I don't consider playing Elite a waste of time. If I did, I'd have quit.

Robigo earns as much money as many other activities. If I've done three runs of which one had failed (btw. I don't do smuggling runs, I couldn't be bothered), I dare say if I spent that time bounty hunting at RES, I'd make more. If you get the right spawn, you easily make over 20M/hr. (and by easily I mean with less effort, more fun and under the threat of ACTUALLY losing money if you get defeated)

I think it's simply the unrealistic expectations of "easy money" that makes these threads reappearing. Truth is, it's a lot of money, yes, but they are not easy. Whether it is due to good or bad design of the game is irrelevant.
You didn't lose money = you can't demand anything "back"

What are you going to do when PG hits Xbox?

Frankly, if the popularity of invite-only lobbies in GTA are anything to go by, then you're going to get less "customers" when they drop then you do even now.

Xbox peeps' will always play only with friends given the chance.

Never heard of that one.

It's ok, Mole told me that PG won't have a big effect... yea it was probably all leading up to that ''I'm done thread''.

The invite only lobbies sound more like just to exploit the VIP thing. Not sure how it works but I've heard about it.

I know what you mean, but using invite-only isn't treated as an exploit.

If it were, then R* would have disabled VIP in those lobbies.

My point is, if PG comes to Xbox in the same manner as PC, well, Mobius won't be your biggest obstacle to your piracy.

It'll be all the little groups with only 3-4 friends in them. I use one of those on PC. Just me & one other guy. It's fairly safe to say there are thousands of similar groups.

And using those groups isn't an exploit.

Nice strawman, but we were talking about a bug causing a loss, not intended game behavior. Or were you trying to imply that there are no bugs in the Robigo mission scenarios?

Let's modify your scenario a bit... ever earned millions of credits in a RES, but the game crashed and when you logged on all of your bounties were missing?

Would you be as opposed to requesting compensation in that case?
No.

But to compare with Robigo, you'll have to compare with this scenario: you've scanned an Anaconda with a bounty of 5 millions, you were ready to engage it and then the server crashed.

Would you ask for a compensation for the potential bounty you've missed ?

another example, a trader who lost his cargo is compensated for the cost of the cargo he had bought, he didn't get the benefits he would have made if he had finished his trade run.

Was wondering how many people have gotten recompensated during a Robigo run where there was a bug where you for example got instantly scanned or scanned while docked?

Edit: Prefferably vote if you have contacted support at all.

WOW - are you really being serious ? What exactly is the loss here ? Ego ? LOL

You can't want "potential money" back.
The trader example, of course, that trader spent THEIR money to buy goods and if they lost it due to a bug, then sure they could ask for some compensation, but the Anaconda example is completely missing the point.

i've done well over 300 Robigo missions and never seen anything that i would complain about.

And? They failed a mission due to a bug. The game screwed up. It's no different from when they compensate anyone else for a bug. They didn't fail the mission normally. They failed because of a bug. That is t avoidable. Use some logic.

If someone blows up their ship whole exploring due to a bug, they usually get it back. Who's to say they wouldn't have blown up on the way back anyway? They could have crashed while landing on a planet That's the logic you use.

It doesn't matter what is invested. A bug caused a failure. The game not operating properly caused the issue.

The missions are taken with a guarantee of payout if you aren't scanned. If a bug causes you to fail, you get nothing through no fault of your own.

That's like going to work and finding out the time clock wasn't working, but you put the time in. You took on a job with the expectation of being paid.

Exactly, that's the point, you can't want "potential money" back.

That's like going to work and finding out the time clock wasn't working, but you put the time in. You took on a job with the expectation of being paid. According to you, you never had the money, so they don't owe you anything.

Except work is real, this is a game
