Server Downtime

Hey people,

I'm hoping its just me... i'm hoping this is just 'cause i'm a nQQb, but I can't figure out where I can find information on how long, and when server downtime will be... seems the only warning I get is in game. I know that can't be the only info. I've obviously tried googling but haven't really found much info. Where can a Commander go to find out how long server down time is, or better yet, when future downtimes will be?

Thanks in advance,

noodlePancake

Every Thursday morning. Starts at 8am uk time. Usually lasts an hour but has been known to take 2 or 3.

for some reason they don't always use the forums to warn us of planned maintenance. You can sometimes find it in the game news bits of the launch screen. No one would die, or even risk a hang nail, if a forum heads up was given but there you go.

It's a common MMO thing I've found to act as if 'planned maintenance' is some off the cuff, spur of the moment thing rather than a customer relations concern.

To be fair, this maintenance slot has been the same for quite a while.

Though admittedly I forgot about it last week and started my own thread, just like this one.

Given how few players actually use the forums, it is not surprising at all that the forums aren't used to warn of regular periodic maintenance....

Yep. It gets me every Thursday afternoon and can last until evening Japan time, so can get annoying if it is extended.

I know but it's not uncommon for 'planned maintenance' to appear out of the blue. If it's planned then good notice can be given. But at least FD give you a count down in game.

It's not a big deal but if you know the servers will be down on a particular day and time then communicate in advance.

FD are by no means they worst offender though. I've played other games when the first hint anyone has of a major planned update likely to take many hours, is a one minute warning.

Even so, it would take someone less than one minute to post a sticky. It just seems like a No Cost piece of helpfulness that should happen as a matter of routine.

annoying think is on the launcher it says server status ok, it should at least have a under maintenance section

Yeah such a useless and badly implemented feature.. Why cant the launcher really detect if the servers are up or not if there is such an indicator in it? And the 20 minutes are over btw....

Oh, now the launcher switched to "Issues detected", so there is only a 45 minute delay, all good...

And the 20 minutes are still over...

Launcher now says...

Server status: Issues Detected
Bulleting: We are currently investigating potential server issues

Maybe it is a surprise launch of 2.1 and that postponed to June malarkey was misdirection :)
